I've had many cats, my own or fosters during my life, and most cats are holy terrors to wash. They scratch and growl, and are generally horrible to deal with. Cooper, is my kitty that I adopted last year after fostering him for a few months. He is a big fat loving Persian, and when it came time for potential adoptees to come meet him, I said nope, I'm keeping this one! Anyway, this cat LOVES his bath. He gets in the sink and is all ready for it. He stands there and lets me my bathe him and doesn't move. I told him he is a freak lol!! |
haha yea i have and she hated it, the worst was tho when a skunk sprayed her and i had to wash her in tomatoe juice, she got major dandruff after that, and i had to wash her a few times to get it out |
Oh she loves soo mad at you lol. I have bathed cats before, my two cats that I put down last year due to health problems ( failing kidneys at an old age ) I bathed a lot and they didn't like it but they put up with it. Now my two boy cats lol, they will have nothing to do with water. I tried to bath one and my arm ended up with scratches and gashes all over it. :) So now I let them bath themselves or take the hose to them lol. |
We had a Siamese cat named Taco that loved to hang around me all the time. She got into my artwork when I was painting and got paint in her fur. So, being a good Mom, I did what my Mother did to me and used turpentine to clean off the paint and then gave her a tub bath. She made the most ungodly noises, scratched and hissed and carried on. When I let her go she ran into her box into the furthest corner and not only wouldn't come out, she threatened anyone who tried to reach her. I read later that turpentine burns their skin....stupid me! Not wonder she had a conniption fit. |
Yes, several times. I rescued Lily from a horrible situation. She was infested with fleas and disgusting. So I bathed her several times then. And when she started getting sick she would pee on herself and I had to do it. And then when her paw got infected I had to soak her leg all the time. None of it was fun, |
I bathe my cats once a month, they are all persians :) 2 of them hate baths and the one has actually jumped into the bath tub with my daughter...that was a sight to see :D |
My mom had to bath her cat and what a story she had.She had scratches all over her.LOL |

Lovin' these stories. I used to bathe my ccats Yom Yipper and Binky. Yip was easy, just touch his left ear and he laid quietly in my arm while I bathed him. Binky - not so much. I wore long rubber gloves to bathe her cause she bit and scratched with her back claws. Nasty little bugger. I have a few war wounds from her. :( then one day my vet said - why are you athing these cats? Let them alone they'll take care of themselves unless they fall into a vat of tar or something. So, that was the end of Binky's baths. Yip still got them, cause he liked them!:) |

I have bathed several cats throughout my life time. Every time I bring home a new cat they get a bath to make sure they are clean and flea free. You really just have to know how to handle them. Mine of course hated it but they didn't do too bad. I have to be very careful when bathing a cat though because I am highly allergic to cat bites and scratches. My cats haven't had a bath for a long time but they haven't needed it yet. |
I have Siamese cats and never had problems giving them a bath . |
OMG!!!...I have a cat that turns into a wild bucking bronco as soon as I start walking towards the bathroom!!......I had to wash her rear because she had a mess.....So I had to suit up in one of those insulated suits that men wear when they work out side, you step in and zip it up...This cat had to have on a harness so I had something to hang on to......She would reach out and grab the bathroom doorway with all four paws!!!...I had to peel her off and into the tub she went, mind you there was no water in the tub!.....But she would go wild!....Anything and everything setting around the tub went in the tub!!!....She stuck all her paws into my arm and hung there while I held her harness, I had to peel her off my arm!... Thank goodness for the suit!...Someone get me a drink!! |
I use to bath my cat in the kitchen sink once a month when she was a kitten. I did it because I thought it would help with my allergies, but it didn't help and actually dried out her fur, so I stopped bathing her. I put a mat or an old towel in the sink when I bathe her. Cats need to cling onto something and not slip around to feel more calm when bathing. I've bathed many cats in my life, and it's never been fun, but it's doable. I haven't been scratched or bitten from bathing yet. |
