Reply Poor Maggie :( Why would you not want to pay for her to become well? No offence meant but i have both dogs and cats i love them all the same. Ooooh I want to recommend getting insurance for your dogs as my insurance pays everything except the small amount of £60/$120 which i have to pay, no matter how big the problem is. DogLover2007 |
Ooops Sorry but i forgot to ask what is wrong with the Hills diet? I have started my new puppy on it as my vet recommended it but if its not good for her.... |

Well, maybe it's ok for a cat...not sure but there are too many ingredients in the canine ones that I don't want to feed my dogs, so I hope they never need a special diet. |
So sorry to here about Maggie! :( I hope she gets well soon. |
How is Maggie doing now?? What is her urine pH? I'm sorry if I missed another thread. Does she have UTIs or blood in her urine often? The type of prescription cat food will depend on what kinds of stones she has. I know the ingredients aren't optimal, but if it can keep the stones from forming, then it might be better. Did they do an ultrasound to check for stones? |

Yes, they did an ultrasound and said there were shadows and couldn't be sure if they were stones or not. That's why they want to take a $125.00 x-ray. I'm not sure what her pH is - I didn't even think to ask since I've never encountered this problem before with any othere cat or dog. Maybe I will call and see if they will tell me. So no, she has never had this before. I keep a potty pad down where she is not supposed to go and she tends to go there when she is straining to go - which is nice since I can watch for any more blood. We'll see what happens when this round of antibiotics is done. |
Gosh, I'm so sorry that Maggie is going through this...When they check her urine at the end of the antibiotics, ask them to check her for crystals again and her pH...I'll say a little prayer for her. |

Thank you. :) Yes, I will have them check for the pH and for crystals. I hope this will clear up by then. |
