For what it's worth, I think I know what you were attempting to say and agreed with you for the most part. (I, too, was chastised for suggesting early on that they might be setting up for disaster if everyone on the thread called the police.)

But posting, like e-mail, lacks the ability to give proper tone and inflection, which can make a lot of things seem much differently than they intend.

How far along are you?? im sorry your having problems, i had alot with my daughter (went into labor at 5 months, they stopped it but at 7 months I found out i had cancer!!) I know how stressful that can be. Just hang in there, and pray...ALOT.

Ernie has been working hard clearning paths to all of our survey stakes so the survey crew will be able to measure the property easily.

Well, isn't that a good reason to rid oneself of a pet. But maybe they couldn't afford the treatment. If so, I feel really sorry for them. That's really hard. My family wanted me to think hard about Tink having her surgery and treatment with the infection. But, she's worth it to me and I don't have anyone else I have to take care of financially. First, I know how you feel about Tink. I'm sure I would happily trot even deeper into debt if one of my babies needed it. I'm glad she's got you for a mommy.

As far as "he who has no name", well, all he needed were antibiotics costing about $6 and a flea bath. The vet is doing all of that for free. That being said, I try not to judge the original owners in these situations too harshly...perhaps the overall cost of the dog was getting to be to much and they just didn't know what to do.

He goes to his foster home Friday night, so he'll be looking for a home. Apparently on the East Coast, as the rescue feels strongly about only placing them where they can pick them up in a hurry. They've placed over 500 yorkies, and have had more than one occasion where they recieved a call (from the people who adopted) saying come take him back or we're: giving him away, putting him to sleep, letting him out the front door....etc.

Aw, poor little guy. We don't have a Yorkie rescue here that I can find. I'd take another in a minute - well maybe not quite. But I want a buddy for Tink one of these days soon. Have to save up a little first just in case!:rolleyes:

awww, Tink for LOVE a brother.....What about United Yorkie Rescue, aren't they nationwide?

I think they are, but everytime I look, they won't place outside a certain range and there's nothing by me.:(

bummer. I understand why rescues limit there areas, I really do. But it's too bad. There are so many good homes out there that are outside of their "regions".

When you are ready, you could contact UYR and see if they accept fosters from your region of the country. They may just not have anyone in your area. just a thought...

Everyone who fosters around here works all day. That's the thing. It's all volunteer and most of them have jobs/dogs/kids/obligations. I think the family who fostered Bernie told us they'd fostered like 50-60 dogs so far...

I don't think I can foster because I'd end up with 50 yorkies....I'm already well outnumbered!:D
