Oh, how I wish we could live on one pay check...don't think that's going to happen!!! My resume is complete...now I have to figure out who I'm sending it to. I live in a rather small town...not a lot, if any, places are actually hiring right now. So, I'm thinking this will not be an easy task. All I can do is my very best and hope something comes up. Thanks for your reassurance!!! |

Good luck Kathy...something great will come your way at the right time so hang in there! We live on one paycheck and to top it off...when my husband retired we went from a paycheck every 2 weeks to 1 paycheck once a month so for the last 10 years I've had to budget for a month at a time. My daughter in law about had a stroke when I told her that! It's not hard though once you get in a groove. :) |
Thanks guys!!! I really do appreciate your support... |
Wow! This thread continues ...:D |
Hey Kathy. Keep hanging in there. Somewhere your job is waiting for you. How far is the nearest larger city? Is it possible to work outside of your town? Did you find someone to look over your resume for you? |
I'm hanging...no really I'm doing just fine. I would rather not work out of town...I'm afraid I'd dread the drive. But our closest bigger cities are like 45 to 60 minutes away. That would be Galesburg, Peoria or the Quad Cites(Moline...Davenport). I also am thinking, are ALL larger businesses the same kind of environment that I just got out of? Maybe I should stick with trying to find something in a smaller place...where hopefully, people have manners and know how to be polite to one another. |
Talk about thread killer... Quote:
When I look at all the posts on user CP, I've counted 17 where I was the last person to post & apparently has become a dead thread... |

I think that is a behavior that is taught and isn't being done these days with kids. So I think you will always run into some rude and ill mannered people whether you work in a small company or big company. It's just the nature of the beast but I do hope you find a job that is not stressful but meets your financial needs. We're behind you 100%:thumbup: |
Kathy, what about medical billing from your home? I used to know several people that did this. I'm not sure exactly how they got into it, but with your background at the hospital it might be something up your alley. Medical Billing and Coding Net #1 Medical Coding and Billing - Insider's Professional Career Guide Idk if these links are to reputable sites or not, just some info incase you are interested. I've lost contact with the women who I knew who did this, but they seemed to make a decent living and were able to stay home...just a thought. |

I have a friend who did medical coding from home for several years. It worked pretty well for her but she really had to work hard 'cause she was paid by the line. I hope things work out for you soon Kathy. HUGS! |
Two of the women at the hospital codes from home...but they're still employed by the hospital. I think what you're talking about is different, but maybe not. |
