For those who don't venture out... found part of this poem on a stepping stone Saturday,, posted it on another thread..

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Second to the last part was on the stone, bawled just reading it,should have bought it for my Maxi's grave..:(

I have copies of the second stanza and the third...never even knew they came from the same poem or that there was more to it.

I used to have something I carried in my wallet from years....can't remember it all....

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there
I do not sleep.
Something, something, something.

Kinda looses something in my translation. :rolleyes:

My brother had that put on my neices grave. She was 16 when she died from cystic fibrosis. It always makes me cry.

I have another poem about loss called I always loved you best. Another tear jerker.

Ok, going home. BTW rr has given me permission to blame the entire AK birthday card project on the OT regulars.

It's a Big Grorge thing, put a turkey in it one day, yep the house was smelling great, right before all the black smoke when the turkey fell of the spinning thing. What a mess, never again!!!!:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

heydeb- charlee says why do you keep telling ramsey she is the ugly sister???? ok charlee update- she lost two bottom teeth this last week and she has all her new top teeth. She weighed 5 1/2 pounds at the vet today.
