It's a beautiful sunny day in SC :shade: unlike the yucky rain from yesterday. The one good thing about the rain though was that I didn't have to water my flowers last night!

Morning all, Another beautiful day here in lovely NJ.. It is suppose to be near 80 and sunny. However, this weekend is not looking to good. For Teri and Meagans' sake I hope the weathermen are wrong.

We've had :2pizza: for a while...it just used to look like this :pizza! It was broke, but admin called in a smiley specialist and fixed them all recently...now everybody is good to go...oh...everybody that is except for bchgrl! She has limits :rolleyes: .

I was just wondering do you all have to pump your own gas at a gas station. When we were in RI this weekend I had to get more gas and they were laughing at me becuase I had to get help. Had know idea how to do this. They asked why Jersey people don't know how to do this.....

Simple it is illegal to pump your own gas in NJ.

That reminds of when I first started riding horses...my trainer made us go without stirrups to strenghen up our inner thighs...well...I would bruise the "Peaches" badly on the saddle (my thighs were not that strong)and they would bleed. My gyno actually had to sit me down and ask me if I was "injuring" myself on purpose! Lol...I think she thought I was involved in some kind of freaky Sado/Masochism thingy....

Oh yeah...we pump our own gas...I didn't realize it was illegal anywhere until we went to Oregon last year...they can't pump their own gas there. WHY is it illegal?? That seems silly to me...don't get me wrong, I would love for someone else to do it...in fact that is why I take my son when I need gas :rolleyes:

I did NOT know it was illegal to pump in NJ! Having to travel through there on my way up to VT, it's a good thing to know just in case I need a fillup! I have been pumping my own gas for about 20 years. But I did notice that there are a LOT more stations here in the south that pump it for you! Southeners are soooooo polite! :p

The Garden State is one of two states where it's illegal to fill 'er up yourself. Only gas station owners or employees can pump gas in New Jersey and Oregon -- "the only two states atavistic, sadistic, and masochistic enough to still require thousands of 'professionals' to waste time, money, and inconvenience customers," according to one columnist.
The ban on self-service gas stations is a highly combustible issue and makes for some heated debates. New Jersey passed the law making it illegal to pump your own gas in 1949. At the time, legislators felt it was too dangerous to have untrained people dispensing such a flammable liquid.

That may have been sensible at the time, but pumping gas is much safer today, and some motorists feel the ban is outdated and needs to go. Opponents of the law argue that removing it would lower the cost of gas and make refueling much quicker and more convenient. Proponents of the ban argue that it creates jobs and customers like full service.

Whatever your position on the matter, next time you're in Jersey and need to refuel, take the opportunity to relax in the comfort of your car while the gas station attendant does the dirty work.

HMmmm even I didn't know why I just knew I couldn't do it. Not that I wanted to. So basically they didn't want a bunch of idiots blowing up the state..

So last night at 10 pm let Bailey out for last pee, he's way too quiet, usually charges out baraking, checking all his domain.. so I go out, he's laying on ground close to the cat, (too close) and they are facing each other. So I walk over, well he obvioulsy took the baby rabbit off of the cat, and had it in his mouth, as I get closer he of course takes off, running around the yard full blast, head back, really gettin' it.. So eventually I can't tell and I think he dropped it.. DUH! I open the screen, he's in, STILL running, Oh, he has it... so I block off all the doors, after he comes out from under the chair, and bed,, and I block him in the dining room.. I corner him, and In case ya ever need to get them to drop something I have discovered if ya pick up their rear end and let their head hang down, HE will drop anything. ( works for him) So I give him the wheel barrel and he drops the poor little dead baby bunny.. and I pick it up in a plastic bag, as he is growling and going nuts to get it... :mad: So out to the trash he went... UGHHHH!
So ya think Bailey was mad,, the cat was even more po'ed! All that time trying to catch him and then Bailey comes and snatches his rabbit.. :(
So that was my bed time excitement... ( did involve a rabbit... :cool: )

It would still be in my house, and I would be somewhere else!! One time my cat brought in a dead bird and hubby was out of town...I had to pay my smart aleck child $20 to take it out :eek:. Little did he know he probably could have gotten more!
I do not do dead animals....nope!

Our gerbil got out one night. After missing for about a month he was finally located in the sump pump. Yuck. Even my "macho" husband would not fish it out. (drowning victims don't look to good). I had to call my girlfriend who came over with her husbands fishing net and fished it out for us.
