Driving in Virginia...to get a permit...15yrs 9 months. You can get a regular license at 16 but you have to had driving lessons. They used to offer them for FREE in school, but now charge for them. Or you can do the private lessons. There's usually a waiting list at the schools so many parents opt for the private lessons. A lot of kids here wait for whatever reason. Shoot, I had my mother at the dmv the second I could get mine ;) |

Hey, what happened to the musical note smilies? Doesn't admin like the way we sing? :( |
Parallel parking!!! Remember it well. When we were in driver's ed at school...part of your test was parallel parking between traffic cones...no knocking down the traffic cones  Any way the driver's ed cars had two brakes...driver's side and passenger side...(you know, in case the teacher HAD to stop some stupid maneuverer ya pulled on the street.) During the parallel test, they'd have two students in a vehicle and the teacher would be outside grading your parking job. My buddy in the passenger side worked the brake while I parallel parked. Can you say instant A. Thanks Jon :) I never learned to parallel park until we lived in a historic district here....no driveways....I became a parallel parking pro. ;) |
