Worst TV Advertisement
 
What TV advertisement do your really dislike, hate, drives you nuts and why ?

Please describe the advertisement so we all understand what it is and why it drives you nuts.

In the UK we have one which really does blow my head and we turn the sound off every time it is on TV. We sit with the remote in hand just waiting for it to appear and it is run on every channel on TV.

The advert is for an insurance comparison web site called "Go Compare" and I feel sure it is aimed at low intelligence people.

In the advert a silly man dressed in a dinner suit wearing a stupid waxed handle bar moustache sings a song about "go compare".
Whilst the theme changes the song is the same every time but the whole thing is so silly I just can not stand either the song/tune or the stupid man and his stupid actions.

We do exactly the same thing!!! :D If I'm not in the room - Andy actually turns it over! Aaaargh!!

I must admit - I like the Morrisons ads though, with Freddie Flintoff and 'Let it Shine' song. This last one has Brucie in it and is set in Kingston market place, which is our local town. They're always such happy adverts! :)

All those commercials for Viagra and the like. They just blanket the airwaves with them and it is so embarrassing and just wrong to have to listen to that while trying to visit with your grown son or neighbors!!! I have gotten to the point of recognizing the first strains of the music and just pick up the remote and change the channel - often right into another such commercial!!! I have gotten to the point that I resent having to think about this subject on a daily basis due to these commercials! Ugh!

Yes, we do have them over here - just not that tv advert!! They're usually only advertised in funny little magazine leaflets - or in Ironmongers shops!!! :D x

I haven't heart them yet on radio but maybe they are there too! We watch a good deal of sports stations so I guess that is one reason "men" commercials are played a lot in this house but even the evening network news runs them! Those drug companies must spend an absolute fotune on those commercials they run so much.

I also find this sort of commercial totally unacceptable.

I have not seen one for this product yet but we do have commercials for items for female hygiene which I also find unacceptable but perhaps that is just an age thing with me who knows.

I have to admit I have not seen or heard of these blankets so thank you for answering for me as I would most definitely of said we do not have them. :D;)

We really don't have them 'over here' - not even on the Sky Sports Channels that we are (constantly :rolleyes::D) watching....thank goodness.

And totally agree with you about the feminine hygiene products. I really don't think it's an age thing - it's probably more a male thing ;). I don't mind them - but Andy really does.

And how about all those 'rapping farmers' (!!!) for Yeo Valley?!!? :D

Hey, no fair ... if we are going to discuss the WORST TV ads, then we should also start a thread for the BEST ones ... I keep thinking of all the ones I like, I guess I block out the bad ones, LOL

We have commercials asking us to donate money on a monthly basis to children's charities.
Some of these are over three minutes in length and are real heart string pullers for the soft hearted.
I think it is so wrong as the commercial must cost thousands to run for that long.

One particular one says that so many thousands of children die every day but if we work it out using the figure they quote it works out that the world population dies every three years.

Another one is about child abuse and it shows extremely young children crying and lonely but the words say they children are actors and no child is hurt in making the advert.

OK so I believe no child is hurt but how the hell do they get a child of one or two years old to cry to order ??

yes, they spend millions on these commercials then send dimes or nickles out to the country asking for money...I don't get it!

I am with BeeCee- Forever Lazy is SOOO ridiculous! I thought the commercial was a spoof when I first saw it- WOW!
