The only thing you win is a front-row seat to my victory party. Your turn to bring the champagne. How'd the ice fishing go?

Here is how it went:
This is sort of a funny story about what I did today. I set out to go ice fishing. Drove the 100 miles in the rain. Roads were bare and wet, meaning no ice for 100 miles. I get to the lake access, a gravel road covered in compact snow and ice with water on top of the ice. I'm driving an old van that just doesn't have the traction for that sort of thing so I decide to put my chains on. I step out of the van and BAM, slip and fall. My lower back landed squarely on the van's step and my elbow smashes something. Immediately, I'm worried about my back. I climb back into the van, attempt to drive to the lake with out the chains. It's a no go, van couldn't make it up even the slightest incline. I back the van up to a turn around and shut off the engine to think about what I'm going to do. I decide since I'm unsure of how my back will feel in an hour that it's best to call it a day. Then the van wouldn't start! So in the dark, sliding around on water covered ice, I clean my battery terminals and then head on home. This was 100 miles that I hardly recall driving, my head is in a fog. I arrive at home and sleep soundly for 6 hours. I think my back is OK, it's simply my ego that has suffered a setback. I regret not punching holes in the ice but I think I made the right call, it is my back after all. I'll give er another go in a few days.

All is well, just sore.. both back straps are bruised... couple days.. head out again.. Oddly... not miserable. disappointed though. LOL no sympathy required. I win!:D

yeah, I could have made it to the lake with chains... but.. I could have aggravated the injury, so yep, the lake isn't going any where.. better to leave it than chance it.

I was thinking something like that about a half hour ago, salmon, halibut or tuna.there's seabass too but, it's a bit fishy.. decisions, decisions.
