61 would be nicer then my 38 |
34 on the mountain with wind gusts of 65 MPH  |
I'm glad it's calm |
Goodness matese! That sounds cold. It's all according to what one grows accustomed. I lived in another state for a while that was cooler than here, but still the south. I was riding my bicycle and enjoying the cool weather during what they termed a "heat wave" that they closed the schools. I was wearing a full coat in early June trying to stay warm and was laughed at by most there. I eventually acclimated, then moved back to the heat that was oppressive and had to reacclimate all over again. The fifties are cold to me, especially here where the wind likes to blow. When it gets down to the thirties, I hibernate. I don't like winter at all. |
Ah you're in Texas they don't have winter just hot and not as hot ;) |
Exactly. Hell holds no fear from me as I already live in it. :P August here is near unbearable. |

It's not too bad in the winter and not too hot in the summertime here |
The coldest I have ever been in my life was on a trip to Boston in March back in the 80s. I had to change planes in Detroit. Being young and completely stupid, I didn't even take a coat! That was the longest walk of my life to get from the plane into the airport. I'd never felt anything like it. What made it worse was I dressed in "Punky Brewster" attire and everyone in the airport was in browns, grays, and dark greens. I looked like a walking freak show. LOL I stared at them as I'd never seen such a display of what I thought was universal drab at the time and they stared at me and justifiably so. When I got to Boston, I purchased my first and only floor-length trench coat to cover all my Spring wear. I had a great two weeks there, but was glad to get back to warm weather when I hit the Houston airport. The difference was amazing. Never again did I go somewhere that I didn't find out what the weather would be before going. LOL It was a great learning experience for an idiot. |
I check and double check that weather of where I'm heading to. You never know though. Several of my friends and I drove up to Chicago during the middle of May for a cub's ball game. Our hotel was out by O'Hare airport. 70" when we left to go down town to the game so, I left my hoodie behind. Got to the game the wind changed and was blowing in from the lake dropped the temps to the 50's. I'm not a cub fan and wasn't about to drop a Benjamin on a cub's hoodie to wear once. There was a time when we could over pack on vacation not now with all the ads on baggage fees grrrr |
I check now. Never again. And you are right about the baggage fees. Highly annoying. |
I drive now unless it's for only a weeks stay somewhere |
We drive most places as well. We enjoy driving. I'm not crazy about flying anyway. Any excuse will do. ;) |
Trying to make an excuse to get out of the house is hard to do u less it's bike riding g or sailing |
Then you stay in the house while I win |
