Brand name replicas How many of you own replicas? I've never been a huge brand-name person, mostly because I could never afford it and my parents could never afford it! Every once in awhile I'll find something cute at Winners with a brand name on it for a cheap price! Anyways, there's a girl in my city that sells brand name replica purses, shoes, clothes and jewelry. I think I might just go for it :) I was looking at all her pictures yesterday and I seriously thought they were real. They have tags and labels and emroidery with the real name (not a knock-off name). This might be my chance to own some Gucci, Dior, Burberry, Chanel, or D&G :D I can at least pretend I'm high class! lol |
I have 1 fake Prada purse, my grandma got it for me from a purse party and it was before I was aware of how bad fakes are, now I refuse to buy them. They are illegal and support terrorism. Plus, people who manufacture the fakes are stealing other peoples work and designs, names that they have worked hard to establish, and make money off of it. If you can't afford a designer item, or don't want to spend a lot of money on a designer item I don't think theres anything wrong with that. No need to fake it. There are tons of items that are inspired by designer items that are very cute, and they aren't claiming to be a brand that their not. Plus, I highly doubt that a fake will be as good quality as the real item. If you really want to have a designer handbag, theres a website where you pay a monthly fee and you can rent out purses from it, I can't remember the name but if your interested I can google it for you. Remember if you do purchase a fake, your are not owning a Chanel, Dior, D&G, etc. Instead you are support an illegal and unethical trade. |
Wow. That sucks. This thread certainly died. :P I would love to own a Coach. But I would never pay more than $50 for a purse. LOL I don't even use purses much anymore. I only carry my cell phone and ID with me anymore. Pockets work for that. |

Plus, there's a place (or maybe a few places) where I live who were very "hush hush" mostly known to the rich ladies in town, who sold REALLY authentic looking replicas and at first, I was really tempted by a good friend who frequented the place.....one or two of the shops were raided by the police and EVERYBODY in there; staff and clienetele were arrested:eek:. I don't care how much money I'd save buying a fake, it's definitely NOT worth being thrown in jail for! |
I was just in New York city and we went to China Town. Capital to fake everything, sunglasses, jewelry, watches, purses, wallets. It was everywhere. They took us into rooms to see the merchandise and New York city police was right there on the sidewalk and did absolutely nothing. I even noticed a police officer speaking to one of the vendors as the vendors wife was taking people to the back room. Tourist were walking on the streets with cutout pictures of the purses they wanted. I have never seen anything like it. I thought it was illegal too. |
