Help with copyright? Ok. If I have my engagement pics online, and they don't offer "paper copy" proofs, they are just online. As long as I give them credit, can I post them? Or is that illegal? I bought the pictures from them, I just don't have them yet. I'm creating a wedding web page, so I was just wondering if I post one (it does have the copyright written on it, and i'm not taking it off) and give them the credit for it, is that legal? Does this make sense? |
Well I'm not an attorney but I would think that if you've paid for them, they are yours and I can't see why they would have a problem with a little free advertising. I would love to see them!:) |

I didn't pay for the proofs though (I didn't buy them all either, tooooo many!), he has free online proofing, but if I'm giving him the credit... I thought it would be ok. But I'm afraid to do it still! |
I would think that legally it wouldn't be allowed. I'm not sure how likely it would be for them to find them online though. |
I don't know if I'll do it... |

Edit to add- How rude am I?! Congrats on your engagement! |
Why don't you just ask them what you can and can't do with them? You don't need to get all technical about copyright. Did you sign a release that says the photographer can use them in advertising etc? If not, they can't use them even if they do own them. |
ok... so i bought this one.... ok. i bought this one so i'll post it... but... to protect me it is copyright of FX Studios. (just in case!) Thanks! We're getting married June 28th! |
