Playing with Scammers
 
Has anybody ever sent e-mails to newspaper ads for free doggies? I've been playing with one who has two Yorkies for FREE. You pay $650 for shipping from NJ for both or $400 for one. When I asked if I could pick them up, they said that they had to be shipped. So, I sent a "shame on you" note that they would be better to fly with me than alone. Then, they actually sent me a street address to come get them. They've sent pictures, too. I'd love to really check this out, but I know it has to be a scam. Their reason to give them up is that they can only have two pets in their apartment. Of course, I've asked for their peds and such and haven't gotten answers to those questions.

Houston Chronicle is supposedly trying to crackdown on the scammer ads. On average, there'll be 30 something ads for Yorkies, with more than half being scammers and it's so easy to pick them out.

Oh, this is a FUN game. There was a thread a while back where some gals here were stringing some of them along:laugh: They were hilarious!

I played with one that was in my paper. I asked for vet records, if he could e-mail them to me or let me call his vet, i never got a reply back!!! Wonder Why???

This was so real that they even gave me their home address. Boy, if I lived close, I'd be driving over to check it out!

Honestly, why waste your time?

I'd be afraid they would send me a virus or something worse. I think I remember a YT contacted a scammer about a yorkie (not knowing they were a scammer) and he actually CALLED her (and she hadn't given the scammer her number)! :eek:

I've talked to the newspaper several times and they want proof. I live in Texas - the scammer is in NJ.

they do that on purpose so they say they HAVE to ship the dogs??? It is all planned ahead of time ..... so despicable ....

I think I would be wary also. Sometimes, good scammers' ulterior motives are something completely different than the obvious. They're hoping that you bite even if you "think" you have the upper hand. Even just an email from your pc can give a good hack enough to get a lot of info from you.....

lol its fun to play around isnt it... :p someone was trying to sell this cute little yorkie for $200 (shipping) on facebook i msged them saying i know they are scammers and im gonna report them :P then i wrote... i bet ur gonna ask ppl to wire the money thru western union huh?? and proceeded to tell them how dumb they are... hahaha they never responded back tho... no fun :p
