Cruise... I have never been on a cruise and thinking about going on one soon. What can yall tell me about them? Anything and everything! :p |
I have been on 3. They were all fun and different. We have a few ships that port here in Tampa. So, it makes it easy for us. I took one short cruise from thur to sun and another from sun to thur. The weekend one was definately more fun!!! More parties. You can make it what you want. As formal or as relaxed. My husband has a huge family and they are close. They like to come visit at the same time for a family reunion...often. So, My husband had a great idea to plan a cruise that way I didnt have to cook and clean and every one was able to get up and eat when they wanted and what they wanted. The ships are huge but you still run into everyone over and over. So, we took 20 people on a cruise and it was the best vacation ever!! There is always too much food availabel 24/7. They have kid camps available if you have little ones to occupy them while you lay out or go to the casino. There is always live entertainment on the main deck at sunset as well as community games like scavenger hunts. They also have little isolated decks with pools where you can just get away from it all. You get to make the vacation you want. They have conceirge service on ship to help you plan your on shore excursions. They will plan picnics, shopping trips, horsebackriding or even swimming with the dolphins... there is something for everyone!!!:ip: Not everyone likes taking a cruise...but I think everyone should experience it once. You have to research and the cruise though. My uncle took one to Alaska when he was in his 50's. He said it was beautiful but the entire cruise was elderly people and everyone was asleep by 8 pm... He was bored! We took our daughter on a the Big Red Boat and she was tucked in by Big Bird. Just do your homework. :coffee_n_ |
I LOVE LOVE LOVE cruises and this will be the first time in 4 years that we are not going on one :(! Cruises are extremely affordable and the service is always fantastic on them. The food is wonderful ( I have a tendency to gorge myself on cruises) and there is always some sort of activity to do and lots of shows to see and the best part is you get to go to travel to several destinations. We love it!  |
Cruises are awesome. Especially if you have kids and you go on the Disney or Carnival or even Royal Carribean. The kids love it. There are always fun people and great entertainment. Shop around and do you homework because you really can get some good deals.:) |
I'm one of those who don't like cruises. And by the way, I went on an Alaska cruise and everyone was not old, nor were they in bed by 8:00 everynight. The things you see on an Alaskan cruise are simply amazing. I loved what I saw, I did not love being on the ship. I feel constrained on a cruise. And I get bored - I don't like cheesy shows and games. I'm embarrassed for the performers - yeah, I know, I'm wierd. I don't like the casino. I don't like to sit around and drink/talk. I don't like to sun bathe or swim in the pool. Even with all that, I do think everyone should take a cruise, at least once. The first time I went, it was sorta novel, but I was bored with it after the first 3 days, so day 4-7 were not too fun. Also, I didn't like worrying about getting back to the ship on time, during port times. I felt I was always watching the clock to be sure I got back before the ship left  I know many many people who love cruises, and I know that I am in the minority - but I think you should hear from someone who doesn't particularly like them. |
they are lots of fun. for a first timer i would recommend a 3-4 day cruise to see if you like it.the only downer that most are not aware of is germs. use purell alot. there are many common surfaces and many people come home with colds , viruses or the runs. |
