cat question My cat is around 2 yrs.old and almost the perfect cat... :D If she didn't shed she would be perfect! yesterday and today I have found her peeing in a dog bed and two other places, which she NEVER does. It's like she was straining to go. Is this a sign of a urinary tract infection? If anyone has dealt with something like this, please throw in your two cents. Thanks :) |
One of my cats had an urinary tract infection. It does sound like one. Also my cats have gotten jealous and urinated on the dog's bed. I would take her to the vet and have her checked for the URI. That is probably what she has. |
I agree, it does sound like UTI. If the pee is discolored that is another sign. |
Do you know what the treatment is for UTI? Antibiotics? If it is, is there any special kind they give? |

My daughter's cat had a UTI not to long ago and he also was going everywhere but where he was suppose to. |
when a cat pee's inside the house when it's house broken, there trying to tell you something. I would definitely have her checked out! |
Ok, if that is what she has, could it go away by itself or does it have to be treated? I'm asking cause I am out of work for several weeks... therefore no checks coming in. :( Thanks |
If it is a UTI, it needs to be treated. It could progress to a kidney infection or worse. Maybe your vet can help you out with a payment plan? |

OK, thanks everyone. I guess I need to figure out what to do. |
Is there a low cost vet clinic in your area? As others have mentioned some vets offer payment plans also. Treatment will most likely consist of antibiotics and maybe a change in diet. |
