My maltese knew that my husband had cancer We were living in MN in the summer and my maltese, Kojak, started bleeding from the penis. The Vet did not know what was causing it. Took him to the University of MN, they didn't know, they said maybe lifting his leg to pee on something in the yard that scratched his penis. We came to Fl for the winter and Kojak spent every moment of his life with my husband, Rod. Rod called me one morning and told me that Kojak was bleeding and to get him to the Vet asap. I took him to a new Vet and he examined Kojak and determined that he was chewing the end of his penis off. Well, You want believe this but Rod found out that he had prostrate cancer. Rod took radiation treatments and was cured and Kojak had no more bleeding. Sorry to say that we lost our Kojak last year but he saved his Papa's life. |
Amazing. RIP Kojak |
Im so glad your husband is now better. and RIP sweet baby. I do believe dogs know when we are sick or some thing is wromg, they tend to hang on us more. I dont understand why that would make his penis bleed. It sounds like he had a UTI or stones or might of had a absess or scratch the inside of his penis, and it could of erupted and got infected. or hair caught inside. it could of been a number of things. |

2 Attachment(s) Donna, I have a simular story. The first time we bred Harley abd Davey (3 years ago), she had one male puppy that we called Sonny and he was adopted by my Mom, who is in her 70's and diabetic. About 6 months ago, Mom called me and said that Sonny was acting funny, keeps jumping on her, threw up ...well you get the picture. I went right over, I live about 7 minutes away, and when I got there my Mom was just hardly concious, very low blood sugar that I could fix with forcing her to take a tube of medicine, but Sonny was fine.....laying right on top of Mom licking her face when I walked in. Sonny could tell that Mom was getting sick and acted sick so she would call me. Lesson learned...everytime Sonny acts sick, Mom takes her blood, and you would not believe how many times Mom calls to tell me the Sonny saved her life again!!! Dogs are amazing!!! This is Sonny and Sonny and Mom, what a pair!!! Just thought I would share! |
What a beautiful devoted dog. I am so sorry he is gone. It is amazing what animals can sense in humans. We sometimes need to be better at l picking up their feedback. |
oh wow what a beautiful dog he was. I'm sorry he's gone, RIP Kojak. He was a very smart dog. |
It is nice to hear about a cancer survivor. Sorry to hear about Kojak! |
My Maltese knew that my husband had cancer. We are certain that nothing else was wrong with Kojak. He lived 4 more years after this incident, he was 16. What does RIP mean? |
RIP means Rest In Peace. I just love Maltese. The first dog my hubby bought me was a Maltese. She was beautiful. She lived to 17years. I will never forget her. |
