Any Doctors out there? Health question Hey, yesterday I noticed something on the side of my tongue, sort of close to the tip. It's sort of a circle shape --not a perfect one-- and an outline around it... the middle of the "circle" seems more red than my tongue colour. I tried searching, and checked out pictures and the close I've came to is a "tongue ulcer" It's worrying the crap out of me. I got a cold 2 days ago so I don't know if this can be caused by my cold or not. And no, I have not done anything sexually with my mouth :thumbdown I'm gonna check in a clinic tomorrow if it doesn't go away by tomorrow. :( It's KIND of sore... a little numbness, as if you bit your tongue you know? Any idea what it can be? something that can make me feel less worried. :( Thanks. I'm an ex-smoker, it's been 8 months-- and I am just about to turn 19. |
Sorry for the double-post... I can't edit anymore. I showed my mother and she knew right away that it's from my cold which has turned into a mild fever. She says she'd always get it whenever she had a cold/fever, and that it should go away within a couple of days. Nonethless, I will be going to see a licensed health care provider to be on the safe side. Anyone experience this before? |
I've had a small clear bubble underneath my tongue, but I asked my dr about it and they said it's normal and they just come and go and pop (sorry i'm not explaining it well). It sort of sounds like a canker sore to me... |
I have a bunch of red bumps on the back of my tongue and I was freaking out and so I went and asked my doctor. He said everyone has them mine are just bigger and he gets people asking him about them all the time. It's nothing at all to worry about. I hate looking stuff up on the internet because 9 times out of 10 they make it sound way worse than it actually is. My husband gets a sore right about where you say yours is and he gets them when he gets stressed. I use to get little white bumps all in my mouth before my wedding because I was stressed so much. I couldn't close my mouth at night and my tongue would just flop out the side of my mouth. It was bad. I'd go get it looked at just to be safe but I bet it's nothing. :) |
I'm certainly not a doctor, I'm an internal medicine medical assistant for 10 years. If you just noticed it yesterday and it's not something that has been getting larger for awhile, I would bet on a canker sore, or a small ulcer. There are prescriptions you can get from the doc that are swish and swallow or swish and spit that may help it heal faster. Does it hurt? I'd say go to the doc and see what they say. |
