Looking for a job suuuuuuuuucks Uggggh it is soooooo frustrating!!! I found the perfect job but lost it due to something I cant control. And im trying to convince myself that "Everything happens for a reason" But I am really getttttttting frustrated now. Either I am OVER qualified for something or they just aren't paying enough! How can they expect someone to live on $10/hour?? In NY???? It's not like I don't have skills and certifications, I do....I dunno anymore. Just needed to vent..... |
I hope you can find one. I am still waiting to hear back on mine. Hopefully no news is good news!! But if I don't get it I don't know what I am going to do. |
Oooh I know how it feels to wait - im so impatient! I hope you get it! |
I'm on a job hunt too, and it is *no* fun at all. I really want a receptionist job somewhere for now, like at a dr office or somewhere like that and apparently in my small town, it's impossible to find these jobs!! |
Patience my dear... As we all know - it really doesnt matter how many certs or degrees one has... Finding a job is never easy! and wont get any better unless your the boss... :) Wish you the best of luck on your search.... |
I wish I could make $10/hour now! but I do live in Austin and could get an apartment for $400-$600 w/utilities included.. Luckily I know to stay home until I'm through with school.. Good luck with ya's job search. I'm looking now also since I quit yesterday |
I would think 10 an hour in NYC would put you on the poverty level. |
i think $10 an hour is better than no money some people live off of alot less than that why dont you take the $10 an hour job til a better one comes alone at least you will have the money |

What kind of job are you looking for ? |
I know how you feel. I recently graduated from USF with a Psych degree and when I was looking for a job in my major, I was either over qualified or under qualified. Or they just weren't paying enough. I got offered like $26,000 a year for a job that I needed a degree for. I said no thanks. And now I'm a BA and I didn't even need my degree for this job. lol. But at least I'm getting experience, getting paid well (I get to negotiate for a raise at the end of 3 months... in November). I might end up going back to school to get my masters... but this time I'm going to be smart and get my masters in business and not psych. lol *Good luck with the job hunting! You should also checkout craigslist (If you haven't already), because i know they have a ton of jobs listed in NY. That's how I found mine. :) If you need any tips or if you just feel like venting, fell free to PM me. :aimeeyork |

LOL. I think you're right. I'm in Tampa, FL and $10/hr would have me living in the ghetto or sharing an apartment with 5 other people. lol. |
