Its on my credit report his card. And if he doesn't pay I am responsible for it. So is there a difference? For me to get on it I had to give them my ss number. |
My other recommendation is to get a credit monitoring service like with www.truecredit.com which is done by TransUnion. You can get a 3-in-1 report every single month for $14.95 per month. With a credit monitoring service like this that you pay for monthly through direct debit from your bank account, it does not put a "hit" on your credit at all like someone else pulling your credit. You can keep track of your credit scores and anything that comes on your credit. You wouldn't believe the things that go on there. Twice, I've had to have things removed that weren't mine. Once, there was a $15,000 car loan on there, and I have never had a car loan!! Another time, they had some insurance thing on there from a company that I've never had. Once I got those two things removed, my credit score shot up!! |
Josh called and they changed me to joint user, well we are waiting for papers to sign for me to do that. So he said that will help my credit! Thanks for telling me that. |
your welcome ;) |
:). Hopfeully this will help. |

Also... Everyone gets one free credit report disclosure every year thanks to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp It costs extra to ask for your score though. |
i ran my experian the other day, everything was fine. So the accountant at my work reccommended running them every 4 months between the 3 credit bureaus |
It's better if you pull your credit yourself through one of those monthly credit monitoring services so that you don't get a hit on your credit. You can update it every 24 hours and see if anything new has come on and if your credit score has changed. Don't let a creditor pull your credit because it will show up as an inquiry unless you're trying to get a credit card of course or something like that. |
You have received lots of good advise. Cherry1000 mentioned a used car to just get you from point A to point B and pay that one off on time and early if you can and it will put you as a fairly good credit risk but only if you have a good job and have been there for a year or more. Your government job if full time could possibly do this for you in a year. Put yourself in the place of the person lending money, they want to make sure you are in a good stable job. Good Luck but take little steps first. |
forget this |

I dont; want anyone to "fix" my credit, nothings wrong with it. I am young and don't have any thats my problem. |

Thats why I am hoping to find out if I get this job this coming up week, bc I don't want to start searching for a car until next October, so that will put me around a year at my job that has an annual salary. Plus I need time to save up atleast half for a down payment  |

I plan to put about $15K down on that exact vehicle myself, but not until 2009 and I will buy a 2008 either leftover (brand new but didn't sell in 2008 so they drop the price drastically) or a used one with low mileage! good luck girl! :) |
No. Its a Suburu B9 Tribeca. Book price for those are 34,000 some where around there. But they are having 2000 rebate on them now, which doesn't really matter since I won't be getting it until next year. I do now that carmax sells them for 24000-26000. So I plan on getting a used, IF they have one that I want in stock. Suburu isn't a popular brand, so carmx doesn't have any right now that are 5 passangers in stock. They came out in 2006 if I am correct. |

I am thinking about college I have a lot of credits. But since I have been going to school for almost 2 yrs straight with no breaks, I think I am taking my break now! |

Don't do it!! You will end up LOVING the $$ of a full time job and the years will slide by and then you'll be too financially dependant on your money that you won't be able to afford college and you won't end up doing it OR it will take you 10+ years to get it done!! Trust me on that! Girl, you have many many years ahead of you to buy a fancy, expensive car, trust me! Finish COLLEGE now! Don't break! Its the ABSOLUTE BEST ADVICE I can give you! I am 31 and STILL 'trying' to get my degree! Don't make yourself have more financial responsibilities than you need to take on! You are young! Plenty of time to buy anything you want, when you get your degree and make twice as much and then you can just pay for it cash! :) :) Please think about it! |
I know thats what everyone says... Its just hard after being in school, taking a break is REALLY nice!!!! |

You seem smart girl, young, but smart! Get your degree, drive you crappy car until it falls apart, get a job making killer money after you get your degree, THEN see what your priorities are! I am driving the same car I bought new at 23 bc having a really nice $200,000 townhouse was more important than having a new car! It was no contest! :) Plus, instead of making car payments while you have a car, use the money to pay the student loans, because, as I sit here at 31 having had 3 years of college back when I was 18-21 I still have $8,000 in student loans!!! UUUGGGHHH try to use the money to pay that off, you'll be really happy when you do! Then when you are ready, buy a $30,000 car if that is what you want! You'll be happy you did so! ;) :D |
This job that I want, a degree really doesn't give you any more money. The way that you get paid more is if you have been certified within the governement.. its complicated. Also the more years you work the more money you make bc your experience has built up. |

REALLY think about this girl!!! I mean think about the future too, at 17 you think 30 is AGGEESSS away, but honestly the time FLIES!! I cannot believe Im not in my 20s anymore! I mean just yesterday I was 22! :) :) |
I don't know.. its hard to decide what you want to do.. |
Superstarkba, celstu1 has given you wonderful advise. Maybe your grandmother could get along without college but today it's a different world. Married couples even with college are just making ends meet with good jobs so without it, it will make your life so much harder. My daughter in law works for the government and she would have never gone up the ladder without college behind her, she would not have even been giving an interview to the type of job she wanted. Just think about it. Going back to school when you are married and possibly have a child is the hard way and it takes you three times as long. Hugs, Joan |
