OMG Need help!!! TANNING DISASTER.. I have my engagement party this saturday and have been tanning for weeks to hide my summer tan lines. I'm wearing a strapless dress. MY IDIOT SELF FORGOT TO LIFT MY ARMS AND NOW I HAVE WHITE ARM PITS AND BACK OF MY ARMS!!!!! It's like 6 shades lighter!! I need a good self tanner and I have three days to make it work. Any good self-tanners out there???? |
oye...i have absolutely no idea about self tanners but i have heard good things about those "mystic tan" things...the tanning bed that you go in to get a spray tan. not sure if that would help or not.... maybe ask them at the tanning salon what they suggest?? |
Oh crap! I'd go to a spray tan place and have them fix it for ya;) You don't want to make it worse! |
Does your tanning spa have the booth where it sprays on? |
Yep ^^ go with the spray tan |
Yep, Mystic Tan should do it. You still have time for three more sessions in the bed though. In a high power bed that might be enough time to even it up. |
I'd go on with the spray on tan. |
You can try a spray tan, or you could try the tanning booths that you stand in to correct the problem. Good luck! |
I don't think I want to do the spray tan because I don't want my dress to get all dirty when I sweat. I'm going to be dancing all night in a big heavy dress  |
There are places you can go who will make it match your skin and only spray it where it needs to be and make it look great.. Good luck! |
If you don't want to do a spray on tan, you can use a high pressure tanning bed (like Ultrabronze). They give you a decent base tan in three sessions (24 hours apart). It would at least help to even it out a bit. |
I had went tanning prior to my wedding but the week of I decided to use self tanning lotion, what a big mistake that was! I wasn't orange all over, just my hands. All I could think of was our ring pictures and me looking like a giant carrot. Luckily we could get some of it off. I'd def. go back to the tanning salon and either get the mist tan or try to refix that area in the tanning bed. Good luck! :) |
i dont think the mystic will rub or sweat off. as long as you dont go on that exact day and get it done. |
Neutrogena makes a good self tanner! (I used to manage a tanning salon for 8 years and saw this problem soooooooo many times) Neutrogena or Clinique are supposedly the best! Ive never used clinique but I love neutrogena! also that jergens tinted body lotion is pretty good, just don't go too dark on it, use the light color one unless you are super tan! If you are not dark enough the medium tone one makes you look orange! Id stick with neutrogena, they have one that is a tinted foam, you put it on and the foam is colored so you can make sure you are completely covered, let it set in for awhile and then shower the color off after the tanner has seeped into your skin! its great stuff! GOOD LUCK!!! |
I want to see a picture, lol. Just kidding :D Maybe you can go get a professionl spray on tan from a tanning salon in just those areas that are lighter? |

there is a time limit that you cant shower for after you get mystic because it will take away some of the color but after that it should not rub off on clothes |
i say get a spray tan!! my mom is an esthetician and she also does the custom spray tans as well.. but i would only suggest going to someone that actually sprays you themselves..(Not the machine/mystic booths). This way they can customize it for you.. especially since you have certain "problem" areas, at the moment. ;) I get this done once a week.. and it looks completely natural.. its my favorite. :p i would DEFINATELY say this is your best bet. (just go as soon as you have some time.. let it stay on the 9 hours or whatever.. and then shower-you shouldnt have any problem AT ALL with is coming off onto your dress.) You should also keep in mind.. if you are gonna do it yourself(at home) you will probably end up with a bigger mess/problem. Cuz you already have uneven color(white underarms) and it will be much harder to blend/do yourself.. and you will most definately need to do your whole body-cuz if not it wont blend either!! (and do it youself self-tanner, seems like it would rub off on your clothes much easier then the spray tan) Good Luck!!:) |
you would be best off to do a spray tan from the pro's. A self tanner is more likely to come off on your clothes then the spray on tans. Good luck! |
Def. go with a mystic tan or go where someone will spray tan you. If you're going to do the mystic tan booth make sure you exfoliate before you go to get rid of any dead skin cells also use lotion on dry areas the night before. It recommends not using any lotion the day of. Also where I get spray tanned you can buy this little kit that comes with the exfoliator, a ph balance spray that you can spray on your whole body and it helps ensure an even tan, also it comes with a face spray as well as a body lotion that helps extend the tan, and bodywash to help get rid of the odor. I've gone to mystic tan about 4 times and I have never had it wipe off onto any of my clothes. So I wouldn't worry about it, especially if you get it done like 2 days prior. |
What about a spray on tan? They can blend it all in. I have used Jergins Self tanner, but it takes a good few weeks, but luckly it doesn't turn you orange like some self tanners. |
Silly Bella Girl!!! :D :D :D :D I recently read a review on self-tanners and the winner was Clarins. I don't remember the specifics, though, but the counterperson should be able to help you out. I haven't "talked" to you in such a long time! Hope all is well. Have a great time at the party and have a drink and do a dance for me! HUGZ! |
I would try to tan it with the three days you have left and than if it is still noticable by the last day I would get the Mystic Tan spray!! Good luck! |

Oh, and if you're getting your nails done, GET THE SPRAY TAN FIRST, then do your nails. I know a bride that had her nails done first, and she had to have them redone the morning of her wedding!!!!! |
