Anyones daughter in Girl Scouts? My 10 yr old asked if she could be a girl scout and I was thrilled that she is showing interest in becoming a GS. So we went to are meeting last night and I signed up to become a leader. My daughter was so excited last night after the meeting! Does anyone else have a daughter in girl scouts or anyone here a group leader? |
My daughter has been in GS since Daisys in kindergarten. I was her troops' leader for the first three years. It has been a great experience for her. I'm sure your daughter will love it. |
I was in GS for years (way back when)...it was a lot of fun. And now it's a bigger deal than it was back then. Back then, everyone pretty much quit at a certain age. Now they've got the Gold Award (I think that's what they call it) which is equivalent to the Eagle Scout for guys. A lot of girls go for that now. It just wasn't a big deal back then or I would have done it. I used to love to go to GS camp. |
I really hope I can find someone here who is a troop leader, I think it would be cool to have the girls be pen pals. |
I think it's great that you're involved in something with your daughter. They grow up so fast that you need to make the most out of every minute you have with them. |
My sister did GS when she was younger (she's 20 now), and my mom was a group leader. I got suckered into helping out on more than one occasion. It was a lot of fun, but sometimes a little difficult to deal with all the girls and all the drama. We did lots of sleepovers and trips, etc. |
