I'm going to SCOTLAND, ENGLAND, IRELAND & WALES!!!
 
Well, not until June 17th, but I AM going!!! I just put my deposit down today. Two weeks to spend there and I've never been there before. I am over the moon excited!!

I'm already wondering if there are any "must haves" to buy or places I really shouldn't miss. The only thing I'm going to miss is my dog. :(

Anyway, just wanted to share my good news.:D

There are TONS of places you HAVE to visit over here... what kind of things are you interested in?

I'm going with a very small group of students and the chaperones - 10 in total if last year is an indication. My nephew is a HS Sophomore and I am going with him!! But, we will have a lot of free time and there aren't many scheduled tours or anything.

I would be interested in haunted castles for one thing. I would be interested in shopping, but stuff that is not meant for tourists. I'd like to get something in my husband's "tartan", stuff like that.

I am beyond excited and, Kezza, I'm gonna need a Yorkie-fix!! :)

OKay, well.... where I live in Nottinghamshire we have haunted ghost walks in the city centre (http://www.ghost-walks.co.uk/page3.html), Newstead Abbey (http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/city...ad_index.shtml) near where I live is also haunted by LOADS of ghosts! ALSO we have lots of local history involving Robin Hood round here too which include lots of little pictureques villages, visitor centres and walks.

Ohhhh and me and my Mum both have Yorkies you could come see if you visit Nottinghamshire!

There are lots of haunted places in London too.

That is awesome . . .I have been to London and enjoyed it . . .everything is super expensive though :) but the sightseeing is wonderful :thumbup:

When you go to scotland you will have to visit the Edinburgh vaults..they are supposed to be VERY scary:eek: ...i never went when i lived in scotland and i really regret not going, but i WILL go one day. and another place i regret not seeing while we were up there is Loch Ness.

that's so cool!! DO ENJOY! it'll be lots and lots of fun!! take tooons of pictures, maybe buy an extra memory card?

well i was only there for a short time and one castle i did enjoy was Warick Castle if you're going about there. it has lots of different activities planned throughout the day and its just really well organized.

Cardiff Castle was oky, not as cool as Warick I think. but hte interior of the castle was quite impressive.

those were the only two touristy places i was able to go. :rolleyes:

oh my GOSH! I am so jelous haha. I'm very excited for you! Those are the countries I'd like to visit the most. ah! take LOTS of pictures!! I don't know all the rules and whatnot about it, but you might be interested in going up to County Mayo, Ireland and visiting Grania O'Malley (The Pirate Queen)'s Rockfleet Castle. :)
