So, I've been debating getting an iPhone...help... So, my treo 680 is the pits! I hate it and have been drooling over the iPhone. But I really want to know ALL the pros and cons. Of course people at at&t and apple store won't say there are any problems at all. Please give me your thoughts if you have an iPhone. Thanks! |
please.... |
i love love love love LOVE my iphone :) i hate cingular...but it is really bad in this area. other than our coverage here, i think it is a SUPER phone :) no complaints here :D :D :D and now that they've dropped the price, i say go for it :) |

If you can afford it why not. |
What good is a phone if you can't use it? I don't have one, but have heard nothing but frustration from those who do. The coverage area stinks, lots of areas where there is no service. I had that problem with AT & T before Cingular joined them, and the poor coverage area is the reason I left. |
i never have any problem using it for the data stuff....email, internet, etc. and for the most part, we can use it ok...just not here at my house. but when we are out of the house, we can usually use it ok. the coverage is spotty...but really all networks are spotty here. verizon is the best..but i dont like their phones :( |

the only cons i've heard are that the dimness of the screen drives some people crazy, and if you have big fingers it can be hard to use:confused: its a cute phone though :) i'm with verizon and i'm going to get the orange enV. :luvu: |
The keyboard is definitely something you need to get used to since it is a touch screen. I wonder if men have trouble since they have bigger fingers?? I love the weather feature. |

i like the weather feature too. and love the notes feature...i use it all the time. the camera and photo's feature is very nice. the ipod is GREAT. and i love that the internet is just like on a computer. i use it all the time to chat on YT :) |
I heard the prices dropped, go for it:D |
I always go to amazon.com, search the product i want, and scroll down to the reviews and see what people say. They're usually very helpful. Remember to look at the bad reviews first :p those are definitely the cons. |

I think you are right---it just depends on how much you use the keyboard. I have gotten a lot better on it the more I use it. The smart feature helps (tries to figure out what word you are trying to type). The price has dropped--that's when I got it. :) |

I personally don't own one but a friend of mine who is an IT guy at work does. He loves his phone. He dropped it and broke the screen on it. Went to the local Apple store and they gave him a new one. I got to play around with his phone and was easy to view his photos, listen to music, surf the net. |
Thanks for all of your responses! I got it today and it's syncing as we speak!!!!! |
Pro/Con Con - You must use AT&T. If you don't then, Good news is Verizon is coming out with a similar phone called the Voyager. The Voyager, made by LG Electronics, trumps the iPhone by offering faster wireless Web access. Voyager has 2-megapixel cameras, and high-speed wireless connections for fast music and video downloads, and a slot for 8 gigabytes of extra memory. The iPhone has 8 gigabytes of built-in storage. First up, the Voyager features a large external touch-screen display, and, inside, Voyger users will find a full QWERTY keypad for their text-messaging and email needs. The phone ties into Verizon's EVDO high speed data network—which offers higher bandwidth than the EDGE network afforded the iPhone by AT&T—and offers a full HTML browser and support for unprotected MP3, WMA, and AAC audio: users will be able to cart around their personal media library on microSD cards, which currently support up to 8 GB of storage. The Voyager also sports a 2 megapixel camera, and should be available by the end of November. Verizon is hopeful the combination of high-speed data access, V Cast media access, and a dedicated QWERTY keypad may appeal to users considering the iPhone, but who are put off by reports of slow data access via EDGE (although the iPhone also offers Wi-Fi connectivity) and touchscreen-based keypad. I am waiting for the Voyager! :) |
Well, my service was already with at&t,so i didn't have to change. So far i love it! It's fast! And it's easy to use! |
