I was on the Prozac for awhile but had to come off it.....I am now on Cymbalta. It has been great. Since we just moved here within the last year. I found a new dr. She is fantastic. She put me on the Premarin in addition to the Cymbalta. And I have to say Life is pretty good now.:D Hubby is pleased. BTW, he takes Prozac and swears by it. And he has no sexual side effects from it. Go figure.. |
The prozac works great for the everyday stresses but with this emotional stress from my hubby (he hasn't spoken to me since tuesday when I told him I was interested anymore) the prozac is not working anymore I feel myself going into a depression. Monday can't get here soon enough. |

Thank you everyone, I wish my husband was so understanding and caring, he feels like i am rejecting him and i can't make him understand. It will work out, we've been together 14 years this is just another bump in the road. |

PLEASE, PLEASE...don't just stop taking it...I would talk to you doc first. |
Yes I was on Prozac years ago and I hated it, I did not care about anyone or anything...It was horrible...I have since been on and off of all different kinds for about 15 yrs now....I just got off of the cymbalta and the withdrawals from it was nothing nice...oh my gosh I dont even want to think about that right now it was such a nightmare...I am back on wellbutrin xl for the second time now for my depression...I really feel that each one of these medicines react different on different people you will just have the find that one that is right for YOU...Good Luck and I hope you find the one that helps you the most....:) |
I haven't completely stopped taking the prozac I take every other day because I know that when I stop altogether after about a week I start snapping at everyone again. Everything I've read from on here to other online pages it seems that wellbutrin would be the best to change to but I will see what my dr. says. Thank goodness my dr is wonderful. He's the type of dr that doesn't belittle you you when go in and tell him what is going on (although this type of problem is not the easiest thing to admit to). |
I was on Prozac once, for ten days. I begged my Dr. not to make me take it any more. This was after a bout of thyroid issues which they thought was the original cause of the depression. Turns out I'm bi-polar, so they put me back on my original medicine - Imipramine (generic of Tofranil). It's an older medication that most docs don't prescribe any more, but it's worked for me for 20+ years. I've only had to up my dosage 3-4 times in that 20 year period. If I get into a real rut, the doc will add Zoloft for a while. I really like it. |
I don't like prozac either. It made me feel numb to everything, besides the fact that it kept me up all night. I don't think a lot of people can take it without adverse side effects. Don't feel funny about telling him. It's the only way he has to know what's going on with different meds. |
Well, I went to the dr and as always he was great. He changed me to wellbutrin and i go back to him in 6 weeks to see if i like it. And things are much better between my hubby and I so today is pretty good so far:D |
