I think I like just Jaci Renee Danielle-two middle names...otherwise she'll have a 4 syllable name, with a hyphen and two capital letters which will be a lot for a kid to write out each time. And then...you've got to think of what people will call her..
You might get "Jackie" with the spelling of Jaci (but JACI is my fave spelling of the name, I like it more than Jayce, Jaycee or the other spellings...)
You might get people calling her J.R. if you give her the first name JaciRenee. That's up to you if you're cool with that!
About the Danielle as a middle name, I think it sounds great as a second middle name, but I just want to let you know that just because you promised her you'd use it doesn't mean you're stuck with it. You are allowed to change your mind on this-it will be the name of your child!
I had the same BEST friend for 12 years, we did everything together, told each other everything, kept in touch daily even though we were 1500 miles apart in college, and then, BAM! something happened (don't need to go into it here), but it changed us forever. It's so sad, and it still upsets me, but we don't talk anymore. If I would have named a child after her or after a promise I made her, it would remind me of her and the situation every time I said my child's name, and that would be really hard.
My point is that friends can change, so be sure that you like the name yourself before committing to naming your child that. If you like it just because YOU like it, then the name works great for two reasons!
We don't have children yet, but we have had our kids' names chosen for years! I won't tell ANYONE-not even my family or close friends what those names are-partly because I don't want anyone to use them before I do, and also because I don't want to hear things like "oh my gosh-I went to school with a "NAME", and I HATED her...you can't name your kid that!" and other annoying things like that!
Whatever you end up doing, just be sure you're happy with the name because it's personal to you and your partner-your child will have that name for the rest of her life :) |
