4wheel accident across the street from my house! I just got home from walking Bella and Rocky (btw, Bella was really good on the leash!!) And I was outside walking on the sidewalk showing my fiance how well Bella was walking. Across the street from me, theres houses, and behind them theres dirt hills where a lot of people go 4wheeling. We see an ambulence pull up down the street and two ladies standing outside looking at the hills. We go up and ask them what happened, I guess a couple were 4wheeling, don't know what happened but the husband walked down to the one ladies door and was like "you gotta find my wife, she's still up there" the collapsed at her door! This is all with in the past 10mins. As of now, theres like 3 ambulances, 3 or so squad cars, and and a firetruck! I don't know who it was, but I hope that whomever it was isn't injured too bad. From the looks of the scene though, it's kinda scary. My fiance is still out there, so I'll post any updates! This is crazy! |
I hope everyone is okay, keep us posted! |
wow that is scarey , please keep us updated |
The firetruck is gone, I can't see down the street from my loft, but it got a lot quieter, so I'm assuming everyones gone, but I did just see a cop drive by. I think that would be a good sign if they left quickly, because usually if someones really badly injured don't they take more time to stablize them, get them in the ambulance, trying not to move them, etc? I don't know. Hopefully I'll get an update by the end of the night! |
Keep us updated. |
Oh, my goodness! I sure hope they will both be okay. Four wheelers scare me! My cousin's son had one tip over on top of him and it killed him. A boy in the next town to ours had the same thing happen to him a few years ago. They can be very dangerous. |
any updates?? i looove riding 4 wheelers my mom hates it though, she's always scared something like this is going to happen to me:rolleyes: |
Leo, my fiance said he saw yesterday (after I came inside) the guy get wheeled down the hill on a gurney (is that how you spell it?) and the girl was walking next to him, holding her wrist. At a main intersection outside of our neighborhood, we saw flight for life there before, so we think that's where the helicopter lands when they need flight for life. When we went to dinner last night right after all this, we saw a firetruck (looked like the same one that was in our neighborhood) ambulances, and squad cars so I don't know if they needed FFL or not, if that was even the same ambulances or not, but it looked like it was the same set-up that was in our neighborhood. Then this morning Leo told me he saw a couple walking up in the hills, looking at the ground, I assume maybe they were looking for something? I'm not sure. That's all the updates I have for now..if I hear any more I'll definitly post them! I hope that it was the same couple that got hurt though that was walking around there this morning, because than you know that they are o.k. |
Keep us posted. Hope everyone's is ok |
Not sure if you live in the suburbs of Chicago or not, but isn't that probably illegal? |

My son started riding when he was about 14...he's 22 now but he seldom gets it out now......it was scary for us to watch him ride back then, but he always wore his helmet.... One day he had a friend with him and the friend was in a rush to cross the street to get into the park, he only looked in one direction and crossed...he was hit by a SUV, my son was so shook up watching his friend fly down the road and land in the street, he wasn't moving for a few seconds, he ended up being life flighted and he had a broken pelvis...his parents made him sell it after that...he's so lucky he was wearing his helmet, it had several large cracks in it... A few years ago a kid was riding along the tracks and he tried to beat the train and he didn't make it, his mother was devastated... Then my son was jumping a very high dirt hill ( I think he was about 16) and when he came down he fractured his spine, after a couple months recovery he was back on it...very nerve racking to say the least... |
Four wheeler's can be very dangerous. Many years ago a couple of teens were crossing a busy road a few miles from my house. The first one made it, the second kid was hit -- the 4 wheeler and boy was pinned under the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He had attended the elementary school where I worked and was one of those "rounders" that I dearly loved. It broke my heart. His mother worked at Wal-mart and I saw her regularly -- it was so hard trying to think of someting to say to help ease her sorrow. |
