?? for those that have pulled up carpet because of the pee pee I'm replacing my pee stained carpet with wood flooring. Is there something I can/ or should clean the cement with before I put the wood down to make sure the smell doesn't linger after the wood is there? |

You should be able to get concrete sealer at someplace like Home Depot or Lowe's, and your not dumb just learning with the rest of us that have pee stained carpets. |

What we used... When we pulled up our carpet & put down laminate the guy told us to paint the floor with Kilz. He said it gets rid of any old odors & they won't go potty on the new floor because they can't smell where they've messed at before. Pam |
Okay. Thank you all for the replies, it is all most helpful. |
Did purchase the sealer at Lowe's can't remember the brand name. Oops! I added more Natures Miracle than recommended, let it sit over night...then remopped. |
Honestly, I didn't do anything. Ours didn't even stain through the pad. The pad itself wasn't stained, and the back of the carpet only had a few stains on it. We always cleaned it up right away and used our mini carpet steamer on it all the time. We replaced it because it was simply worn out and looked bad. We put down engineered hardwood on our slab. I LOVE it. They have each had an accident by the door that was no big deal, but they don't go around sniffing it like they smelled anything underneath from before. |
Didn't know about Nature's Miracle or probably would have tried it. I ended up mopping the heck out of my floor with bleach water...SEVERAL times just to be sure. We ended up staining our concrete and then of course, polyurethan sealant. |
