how about working at a shelter? I notice that you live in mass...There is an animal shelter in Sterling (don't know how far you are from there but,) maybe they are looking for someone to walk, clean cages and, feed the animals. I don't know if they pay for this but, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask....just a thought |
What is bad about the place I live is that there is only one vet clinic near me.. Its about five min utes away and we took our cat there one and they told us he was a she. We also had no other option and had to board our dog there for two days and he looked horrible.. I felt so bad. The on we go to know is on a good day about 30 minutes away. I'd love to work at my moms office but she won't let me.. It was just going to be a few weeks last summer because they were really busy and I just asked her to ask her boss. All she said was no. There wasn't a reason either.. Her boss would have let me too because he knows me. Most places around here are family owned so they are also family run.. Is there anything online I could do thats not a scam? Maybe a I could put my sewing machine to good use and try my hand at dog clothes :) |

I would sit down and talk to your mom. Explain to her why you don't want to work in the petshop. Then maybe the 2 of you can look for something else. |

I understand that. I think that maybe it would look better if you found a part time job somewhere and then approach her. Say, "Mom I found somewhere else that I can work instead" What about finding a sitting job. There are probably tons of parents that would love to have a night out. Make up a flyer and post them at the local market. In my PERSONAL opinion... I think 15 is just too young to have a true "job". I think the best thing you could do would be to line up a few regular sitting jobs. Good Luck. |
Like Blowry said you can also sew. You can sell little dog clothes. You can even make quilts for babies. I hope things work out for you. |

im not sure how it is in mass but in ohio you cant really get a job until your 16...in less its at krogers (they hire at 14). i volenteered at a humane society for school a couple years back when i needed community service for high school. it looks really good on my resume now that im in the process of getting a job in a vet office. so once your old enough you should try to do that, if working with animals is something youd really like to do. good luck with what ever decision you make! |

IMO I think you are still young and you have the rest of your life to worry about working. Enjoy being your age. I had my first job at 16 and worked ALL the time at a local fast food restaurant. My parents never made me work but I liked having the extra money because I loved to shop. :) It's just really hard finding a job at that age. My brother worked at that age for an older man doing yardwork. He mowed his grass and such, I know that's more of a boys job, but that usually all that's around here. Well I guess I did babysit at 14 for my moms friend, it was usually once a month though, nothing big. |
i started working at 17 definately not because i had to but because i wanted my own money and a car and everything else. I also quit school at 18. But now that i have all that and i look back and wish i took more time not worrying about all that. Im now 20 and i work my butt off working. I probably work way harder than a 20 yr old should have to work! It has defiantely taught me a lot of responsibilities and i have grown up soo much since then. But i wish i would have stayed in school and worried about that more. I loved school i made A's and B's never a C on my report card but when i moved and started homeschooling and then tried to go back to public school my credits were screwed so i quit. I guess what im trying to say is NO teenager should have to work that hard. Take life slow and enjoy it and stay in school. If your mom is making you get a job then do it because you still live under her roof but find something thats fun! Something that you can enjoy and keep your interests in the right places when your out of school. (like off drugs and partying)! But like i said before this place doesnt sell cat or dogs so how are they getting their animals from puppymills? |
