HELP! I found a dog!! OK, I have to make this quick. I'm at my aunt's house babysitting my cousin (11) because the rest of my family has gone to a funeral. A beagle (around 2-3 yrs) wandered into the front yard. we went from house-to-house, I called the animal shelter to see if anyone filed for a missing one, and NO ONE knows who she belongs to. She's very friendly. She has a cherry eye. She has no identification! What can I do? Putting up fliers isn't an option, I can't leave the house unlocked. |
they prob dumped her because of the cherry eye sorry no advice megan |

I wish I could find the camera. She's got the cutest little face. |
Could you take her to the vet to get scanned to see if she has a microchip? |

Put her in a secure area until you can do something so she doesn't run away. |

Megan here is info Beagle rescue It may help a little. http://clubs.akc.org/NBC/beagle_rescue.htm You are so great to help the sweet girl. |
I hope you can find her home and someone didn't just dump her. Cherry eye is easy and not too expensive to fix. |
I hope that you are able to find where she belongs. Hopefully she just wandered off and was not dumped off! Good luck and it's good that she wandered your way were she was able to get your help! Keep us posted! |
Thank you guys SO MUCH for all the links. I'm calling every phone # I find, but no one's open because it's Sunday afternoon. =/ I can't leave my cousin alone while I sit outside with the dog. I can't bring her inside because she might have fleas. I guess I'll just have to let her bark (she has water). I just feel SO bad. I hope someone is looking for her. and I hope I can find them. I know how scary it is to lose a dog. =( |

She doesn't look thin. Slightly plump around the front of her actually, but that might just be the way the breed looks. I can't really feel her ribs. Her nails are trimmed, though that could be from running. her coat is very shiny though. She doesn't really know any commands as far as I can tell. |
Maybe you could call your local radio stations and give them the description, the area where she was found and a phone number....and maybe the tv stations too. Just a thought. BE SURE that if anyone calls you that you make them describe the dog to you (like keep some detail not public, so that you know that it's really their dog and not someone who might just want to take it for who knows what reasons:confused: ) and if there's a neighbor who might be able to come over if someone is comign to check the dog out so that you and your cousin aren't alone with a stranger. |

'Angel' has been returned to her home. :) When my family got back to my aunt's house, I took her out knocking on some more doors. One lady was like "Oh, that's Angel. She lives next door. I swear she hates it there." So I was just kinda like "oooooooh...k. Thanks." So I brought her next door and I was like "Is this your dog?" and she was like "Yeah, thanks." and took her inside. Um, OK. Your dog has been missing for like 6 hours. You sound very concerned. But whatev, as long as she's home. :) |
ahh Well I hope that they keep her there. thats pretty sad. |
