hey yorkietalker ! =] write an interesting fact about yourself in this thread =] here, i'll start ... im a pretty good singer . i've sung since i was 3, 10 years ago . i've sung in and won many talent shows for it . when i was 6, i sang in front of my whole town before a parade . i've never been to a singing coach or any lessons . my mommy says i was born with the voice of an angel . you're turn :D |
my turn!!! I used to play the accordian and was in the Sedona Accordian Band when I was 5 years old. Sometimes I had to carry that heavy accordian 6 miles home from practice if I didnt have a ride. One time on the way home, I got to see Elvis Presley making the movie Stay Away Joe!!! I think he was my first crush!!!!!! Dont you think that Elvis and me at 5 years old would have been a great couple!!!LOL Lynn |
When I was 7 years old, I was on the Bozo the clown TV show! :D |
Don't know if it is interesting or not, but here goes: I danced with Dan Akroyd at a local bar. I was pretty smashed (years ago:) ) and he was the nicest guy, didn't act like a celeb at all. He even accepted a pair of "wild and crazy" sun glasses I had given to him and he wore them while he sang on stage with the Lamont Cranston Band!!!! Ok, that was my one interesting moment :) |
I love horses so i had a pony when i was about 12yrs old:) I put up a sign in our front yard and gave out free pony rides to all the neighbor hood friends:D |
I was a pretty good basketball player in highschool! I even blew out my ACL and had knee surgery - way back in the dark ages! :p I don't play anymore (of course) :) but I attend all the home games (and some away games) for the women's basketball team at the University of Texas! A friend and I are going to Hawaii over Thanksgiving to watch them play 3 games! (yes, we're NUTS - and we like visiting Hawaii too!) |
I used to cheer for an All Star team it was soo much fun. Then one day I landed on my head and wasn't able to tumble anymore :(. AND I grew up with Truett Cathys grandchildren, if that counts:) |
I'm fifteen.. I used to cheerlead but my mom wouldn't let me learn how to tumble.. I played basketball for 2 years.. I'm from Italy but I was born here.. The first generation that was born here too. I have been to Italy eight times to visit family and hopefully next month will be my ninth. I really miss it. and I havent been in 7 years.. I alos go to an all girls school.. Good because I don't care if I barely did my hair and I don't have anything to worry about except school work which is good :) Havent done anything interesting enough yet.. |
I play guitar and love dancing, I used to play basketball during hs & college...Now I just love the sport from the side line:rolleyes: . I enjoy cooking and creating different foods. When I was a kid i used to charge for kids to come and take dancing lessons (25 cents) with me...But i guess it was all for fun |
I was Drum Major in my highschool marching unit my senior year. We marched down Main Street in Disneyworld while performing and also won the top trophy along with best song choice and formation in a competition that takes place with about 10 other schools. We were even in the newspaper :) |
1 Attachment(s) I was born with two heads. :D I paddled the length of the Yukon River over two summers in a kayak. A friend and I did the first 1,200 miles together, and I did the last 700 or so by myself the next summer. |
As always, Mike is the comedian of the group!!! Ha! Love it!!! Since I was young, probably 8 or so, I have been working on race cars and classic cars. My Dad use to race (drag and dirt ovals) and had lots of classic cars. I married a guy who loves classic cars (we have lots) and I still work in the shop with him. I am not really a "grease monkey" but love the feeling of restoring an old car and taking them to shows. Despite this, I am a very "girly" lady.....love to dress up, hopeless romantic, old fashion. |
^THAT is so cool. Like, seriously! OKKK....can I say more than one? HAHA! Alrighty. I rode horses for 8 years, and they were my life. I gave it up because now I sing! Well, I've been singing for a while. But I became very serious in persuing a musical theatre profession, so I started voice lessons. and now I go to the performing arts high school. :) and I'm facinated by old houses/areas. There are these two houses in my town - the oldest here. and they are on main st. and they're meuseums now. I went in them when I was in 4th grade and it was the most interesting thing ever! oh and I've seen Donny Osmond in concert 8 times. :D |
1 Attachment(s) Okay, I sang back up for Loretta Lynn for 2yrs.. and sang in Nashville off and on for 10 years and sang in Branson for 7 years during the summers. I come from a Large family of 12. 7 girls and 5 boys. I still sing all over Michigan.. Mostly at fairs. I have seen many Country Stars. I sing for pleasure now. This picture is of me now. As soon as I can get into the closet I have other pics of me with Loretta Lynn an others |

I learned how to read when I was 4. My 9 year old brother kind of taught me. He loved to read and loved to read to me out loud. When he read his finger would always follow the text. I guess I started asking him questions about the letters and sounds but mainly I picked it up by listening to him read while watching the text above his finger. He loved Poe! My second son used to drive me crazy when he was 2. He would bring those plastic magnetic letters to me over and over again asking what they were. If answered wrong he would correct me. He didn't learn to read until he was in school but he knew all of his letters and was bored to tears while the others learned them. |
I played the accordian also when I was young. I was on the Ted Mack amatuer hour at Steel Pier on the Atlantic City boardwalk way back when:p |

My hand touched Billy Ray's butt! :p I am one of the few girls that drifts cars. I have soo much money invested in it, it kinda scares me to get out on the track, as I am afraid I will hit a wall...which can kinda hinder your performance! Here is a Link Also, I am a parachute Rigger for the US Navy. I LOVE IT! It is such a huge stress factor, but I love that what I do, saves lives in a situation where they may have no choice but to use my gear. I like knowing that I did it right! |
I know how to hypnotize chickens. Really! It's easy. :p |
I love to sew, and can do it pretty well. Trying to talk hubby into a momogramming machine. I'll probably get thread and a needle. LOL |
