oh I thought she was so cute. Did you notice the bidding started at $5?? Wow, I've never even heard of these before - but apparently they are highly desirable. I need one for me & one to sell on ebay :D

Thanks so much. Actually when I finished this one she was about the same size as Rainbow was at the time.. 12 weeks.. But Rainbow wouldn't stay still long enough to get a good picture of them together,... so the pictures with Rainbow is when Rainbow was 16 weeks. lol

LOL.. I have seen some of these yorkies go for over $5000!! YIKES!! The most I ever got for one was $512 and that shocked me. Normal price for one should be around $200-$250.. That sounds like a lot but considering the mohair is $350 a yard.. it adds up fast.

That ebay auction is chump change compared to what Mary Holstat's "stuffed" Yorkies sell on on ebay...one went to $10,000..and the others are way over $2000...I could just see one of mine decide to chew an ear off..LOL

wow they are cute but my goodness the price you pay you could get a real fur baby! very lovely work by the artist tho, I wonder how long it takes to make one! Also I wonder if you could send in a picture of your own fur baby and have one made up that looks like it? That would be a nice way to pay tribute to your beloved baby if they passed away, I think.

which one of yours sold for $512 if you dont mind sharing? also how much mohair do you use on one creation?

I have done that with a chiquaqua and a maltese for customers. In fact the maltese had angel wings on it. From start to finish it takes between 20-40 hours of work. I make each pattern from scratch for the yorkies.

Both yorkies in this picture sold for over $500. They are lifesize and actually were the first ones I made. I certaiunly didn't expect them to sell for that much. But it was nice that they did! lol

For a life size yorkie it takes about 1/3 yard of each color.. then the glass eyes, joints, etc.
