First Birthday In January my son will be 1. Time sure does fly. Hubby and I are already thinking about his birthday party a little bit and what we want to do. I tend to go a little overboard with these things. I want to go all out on his gift and hubby wants to be a little cheaper. We have the money to spend on him so what should we get him for a first birthday gift? I want it to be something bigger than just a standard toy you would get for $20 at Wal-Mart. Any ideas? |

Have you seen those Lil Tykes Roller Coasters? Those are super cute! And how about getting a savings bond and start doing this every year. |
How about some kind of investment that he'll have for a long time...maybe a bar of gold, shares of stock in one of your favorite companies (or a baby company, since he'll be a year old-maybe Babies R Us or something?), or a savings bond. You could frame a savings bond or stock certificate and put it in his room, so you'd have something to unwrap! |

How about one of those little motorized cars. Mine all loved them. |

Good idea, that's what I would have said. We always bought toys and stuff for the kids to open. But their big gift was savings bonds. When they got money from their grandparents we bought bonds. When they turned 16 they were thrilled to learn they had money for their cars. We always told them we would help with their cars, they used some of their bonds, and we paid the rest. Take lots of pictures!!! Kids grow up way too fast! Mine are already 23, 22,21,17 & 16, Oh I feel OLD!!!!     |
Those are some great ideas!!!!! I'll def. tell hubby and see what he thinks. :) He is growing up so fast. Hubby thinks I'm crazy for wanting more in the not so distant future....ok so maybe I am! LOL |
