Recommend Small Digital Camera? Well, my Canon Elph Digital is, I think, kaput. I don't know what to buy next and I'm daunted by researching all these cameras. Can anyone recommend a tiny, easily-portable, digital that they've been lovin'? Ideally less then....I dunno...$200? Thanks all! :D |
I have the ELPH and I love it. Please tell me you had yours for years and years before it went kaput. |
I Love Love Love my new Panisonic Lumix It is small and very user friendly.. shhh I like it better than Hubbies Huge pain one that must be 5 pounds! lol Oh and they have it in pink too ;) I forgot to add it was $196.00 ;) |
You can look at the Nikon Coolpix camera - they have several models at different price points - that a great point and shoot camera. This camera takes nice pics. |

I paid $500 for my canon and can't for the life of me figure out how to use it. My daughter has a little one that she paid $140 for and it works great. The cannon came with this big booklet that would take me months to figure out. |
Kodak is very user friendly. And you are right to not spend more than 200 or 250, just because these things are designed to be outdated in about 5 years. and the super nice 600 dollar models today will be less than 200 in another 5 years when you need another one. Personally, I have a JVC hard drive digital camcorder. I figured if I was going to get a camera, might as well get a camcorder that does pictures as well. |
I have a Canon Powershot Digital Elph (reading off the top of the camera, lol), and I LOVE it! Just got it this past spring for my 1 year wedding anniversary, from my wonderful husband! |

Hmmmm...all you fellow "ELPH-ers" out there are making me wonder if I try to get mine fixed instead....but then I always think I'll end up paying almost just as much as if I bought new...? Argh. |
I have the Cannon Easy Share. It takes great pictures, video's etc. Easy to upload onto the computer too. $149.99. |
When I decided to buy a digital, I first bought a magazine on digital cameras. They go to great length helping you figure out what camera better suits your needs and all about pixels and things I knew nothing about or what thier function was. Hope that helps you in your decision. I have the Nikon coolpix 7900. I've had it for a couple of years and cannot say one bad thing about it. |
How funny, I just got on the internet to research a new dig cam I want to get next. Currently, I have the Canon Powershot SD...I've had it for years and it's starting to age on me. I like Canon so much that I've decided on getting a newer Canon model - Canon Powershot SD850 IS. I like smaller cameras that are easy to learn the functions & operate.. |

I guess you could say I am a digital camera junkie. I have been using digital cameras since they first came out. I have purchased many, many digital cameras!!! Currently, I own three. I have two that were kinda expensive....one is a Canon and the other is a Sony. Both of those were $500 or $600 a piece and they really don't take that great of pictures! BUTTTTTT, I have a Panasonic DMC-FX07 and it is AWESOME!!!! It cost me about $200 and takes the best pictures I have ever seen. It is a small camera but has a large LCD screen. I share lots of pictures with friends and family and everyone always wants to know what kind of camera I use. I love this camera!!! Best of luck in your new purchase!! |
