Moles tearing up my yard! Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get rid of the moles in my yard without putting my dogs at risk? Let's keep it realistic. I'm single so I'm not gonna be shooting them, or using those guillotine trap deals that stab them. My dad gave me 2 of them but I can't figure out how to work them. I'm guessing I need to get rid of the grubs, but my friends dog had a seizure and died after she put stuff on her yard for grubs. Just looking for some suggestions. They've got my backyard so torn up, it's like walking in sand. Help YTers. Any mole assasin's out there for hire? BTW, I don't think Otis and Oliver would kill them even if they could find them. They haven't proved to be very successful hunters. |
My parents have gofers and they are a nuciance big time my dad bought this stuff that you put down in the hole and it's kinda like a bug bomb it goes off and goes through out the burrow and kills them. |
We have them too. Don't put anything in the tunnels like what they call poison peanuts...they only eat small bugs and grubs. We've tried the traps too, they don't work well, especially if the ground dries out. The only real way, we've been told, is to get rid of the grubs. I won't chance my Yorkies getting sick, so we just wait till we see a tunnel moving and bad as it sounds...pitch fork the heck out of it. |
Our yard is also being destroyed by moles, but you can't bomb them like you do a gopher because they dig right at the surface and you can't find any deep holes. We can't get rid of them because we haven't found anything to do it with that won't harm the dogs. This is the time I wish mine would dig those little buggers out. I wonder if a cat would do the trick. :D |
Our barn cats take care of our moles.... we find little headless bodies all the time :) |

We have the same problem here, we tried about everything  |
My husband says that you can put castor oil down the little tunnels. I am not sure if you buy the pill form or the liquid form. He says it will make them move, because they don't like it. I am not sure if they smell it or eat it. |
