It's a sad thing that he died. I feel really bad for his children but most of all for the 5 yeard old that he leaves behind.

This is so sad :( My husband and I loved him...he was SO brilliant. I just can't believe that he's gone :(

It just breaks my heart. I'd heard he was very ill. He will be greatly missed. :(

Yesterday I saw an article about the deterioration and his health.. and now this morning I woke up and he had passed.. Its heartbreaking.. I'm fifteen and I've grown up listening to him and I felt like crying this morning.. Its really hard on my family.. We all love him and whenever I was at my grandparents house either some of his music was playing or other italian music was playing.. =/ hes going to be missed

Your so lucky! I wish I could have gone and seen him.. Its sad that I will never have that oppurtunity now

What an amazing talent he had and I will miss him also. I think I have just about every cd he ever made. My sister was able to sing with him in Italy over 30 years ago at the Spoleto festival.

I'm so sad at his passing. He did so much for opera which I've always loved. WQe can be thankful for the many hours of pleasure he has and will continue to give us.

I too am saddened by this news. He was a great talent and that talent crossed all ages and times. He will be missed but fortunately his music will live on.
