For those that need a laugh, here's what I learned today NEVER combine Bissell pet stain cleaner for steam machines with vinegar. Dixie has been having some accidents lately since she has been recuperating from surgery. There have been a few times when she hasn't made it to the pee pad in time and has gone on the carpet in my bedroom. Normally I like to take care of this sort of thing by using vinegar to balance out the pH level and then use the Bissell pet cleaning solution in my steam cleaner. So being the brilliant genius that I am, today I decided to combine the two steps and I poured both the Bissell pet cleaning solution and vinegar into the tank of my steam cleaner. This leads me to my first statement, NEVER combine these two things. Why you may ask? Because they combine to form a FREAKING SOLID MASS OF TAFFY LIKE CONSISTENCY!!! Yep, that's right, in the tank of my steam cleaner. I might as well have poured liquid concrete in there. Now here is what I don't understand, the label on my iron tells me not to iron my clothes while I'm wearing them, the label on my hairdryer tells me not to use it in the shower, and my bottle of drano says not fit for consumption. So why oh why can't Bissell's label tell me not to combine it with Vinegar? The worst part is that I can't help but wonder if some Idiot is reading this right now while ironing the shirt he's wearing and chugging down a bottle of drano thinking "what kind of moran is she, everyone know not to combine the bissell pet cleaner with vinegar in your steam cleaner, like duh" Excuse me for a few moments will ya, I'm just going to bang my head on the desk here for a while  |
:lol tears Did you get it out of the Bissell? |
 :p  :p  That is too funny!!!!!! hahahahahahaha i'm glad that didnt happen to me! :D and could you even get it out????? |

Oh no! I'm laughing and crying with you at the same time. This is much worse than my story about Tink pooping on my freshly shampooed carpet and rolling in it.:( I sure hope you can figure out how to get it out of the tank. |
Did not you learn not to combine chemical compounds in science class? :D |
Lol I gotta love your sense of humor!! Best of all it was you who figured that one out, cause I was seriously thinking of doing that. Thx for the warning, lol!!! I do hope you can get that stuff out of your steam cleaner. |

Once you chip it out do you think there might be something you can make with this stuff? You could be onto a new invention. :bulb: |
sounds like something I would do...LOL I really hope you can get it all out of the tank. |

OMG! That sounds like something I would do! I mixed bleach with a toilet cleaner once and and passed out from it. I have 4 boy's and it can get messy when they were younger. My husband makes sure to remind me not to mix any cleaning products together when I clean now, I do not think I will ever live that one down! |
It's those kinds of stories that create the need for a label. LOL :) I'm laughing with you honestly, not at you. :) Write to Bissell and let them know what happened. I bet they start putting the label on there. WARNING: do not mix Vinegar with approved Bissell steamer products. LOL I hope you were able to get it out. |
:lol tears :lol tears Oh how funny!! You've made my day!!! :sidesplt: :sidesplt: |
LoL........hope it comes out for ya. I am bleach freak, I use it to clean everything and the other day my Mom lets me know peroxcide would clean anything....and it did remove some mildew off the wall that the bleach wouldn't. Anyway, thank GOD I was telling a friend about how awesome the peroxcide was and she told me don't to mix it with the bleach or it would explode. I would have probably tried it. Angie |
:) Thanks for the warning. Seems logical to me to use them together! Glad I haven't tried it. So much for chemistry class, huh? |
   Its really funny lol I use both the Bissell Pet Stain and vinegar too! Good thing it never occurs to me to mix them in the machine! I hope you will be able to clean it out. |
hmmm I have a Bissel and combined the 2 in the machine and it worked fine.... hmmmm I'm lost now.. |
