We love hummingbirds also and have feeders all over our yard. I don't think I've seen any quite that tiny though. Good photos! |

Those are amazing photos, especially when you know these birds are not holding still, but fluttering like crazy!! I think hummingbirds are like butterflies - you just can't get enough of them!!! |
That is so beautiful....we live near the Metroparks Valley and I spoted a hummingbird in my yard and I was so excited so I ran out that day and bought all that I need to feed them and I was so sad....I never saw another one. I think I'll try again next spring and see what happens. Love that camera. Thanks for posting those pics. |

Those pictures are so beautiful diggy4!!! Wow, great camera!! |
And if you consistently put out your feeders every year, you'll see more and more every year. It's really cool. :) |
hummingbirds are the most amazing things. I love them so much. The pictures are gorgeous! I've only seen one in person once several years ago. My friend and I were goofing around in her front yard and this thing flew past us - we both panicked thinking it was a horse fly. We followed it and turns out it was a beautiful little hummingbird. |

My older sister use to tease me and tell me "hummingbirds don't have feet"... Beautiful, fascinating little creatures aren't they? Oh yeah...the pictures are beautiful too, great job... |
They are so pretty, i just love them! My grandma is so fast she used to catch them with her hand, and then let them go. |
I love these little creatures! So pretty! When I used to live in Virginia I had a feeder on my porch and they would fly up and eat while I watched. One time I had just cleaned the feeder and was trying to hang it back up when a hummingbird flew up and kept hovering around me waiting making these little squeek noises. When I finally got the feeder hung up, he flew up and started eating while I watched. I was so excited! :D I think they are territorial too. I once saw 2 fly up to my feeder and one chased the other off. |
Aww, I gotta have one now!;) |
I agree, they are exciting little critters although I wonder sometimes how smart they are. I've had to rescue two of them (on separate days) from my garage in the last two weeks. The ding-dongs got in the garage and then couldn't figure out how to get out. The big roll-up door was open and a side door was open. The cats were salivating, let me tell ya! One of the cats jumped on top of my Tahoe and when she couldn't reach it, she jumped on top of the garage door. She came so close once to catching the poor bird. I had to wait (each time) for the bird to get a little tired and then guide it towards the open door with a broom. Didn't work though until they had tired themselves out first but by then the cat was just about to win itself a snack! |
