Does anyone have an HP laptop? How are they and how do you like it? |
I have had an HP Pavillion laptop for several years now. I have no complaints other than it is a bit big. Maybe the newer ones are smaller? |
What size is your screen? Or are you talking about the laptop in general? |
The screen is the same size as the laptop, give or take an inch for the framing. The whole thing is 12" by about 10 1/2" by about 2" thick. |
HP I have two..one is 3 yrs old and the other is 7 yrs old. I am very happy. I had the 7 yr old one refurnished (whatever the term is) it was running slow and the guy only charged $49..said it was good as new.. Both have 15 in screens....the newer one is lighter weight, which is nicer. |
I have one. bought it in February for $1200:eek: ... It was on sale though so i took it. I don't really like it, because it came pre-installed with vista and vista has soooooo many problems when you install games and/or software. It was good at the beginning. But now I don't like it much. Luckily i bought insurance and will hopefully change it with a new one (maybe different brand)in a few months (with store credit of total pruchase price they told me)...... BUT.. if you don't like installing all kinds of stuff and will use it for the basics it's all good! I just love playing games and reading my ebooks and something always messes up until i uninstall it..... |
I have a HP Pavilion and I love it. The screen is big and comfortable and it has always been smooth so far. I love it. |
I just got mine, its great!!!! |
My laptop is a 17 inch screen, its HUGE!!!! I got mine at Best Buy, its was on sale!! |
I have a HP laptop and it's brilliant...I've had mine for a year now |
I have an HP laptop and it's great. I got it freshman yr of college so now i've had it for 2 years and it's still working great  |
oo i forgot to say tho my space bar is messed up, you have to press it really hard for it to work, i mean really really hard and i never got it fixed or returned it. I don't even remember how it got messed up but my dad shipped it from Florida so i couldn't return it. Anyway does anyone know where i should go to get it fixed? It is so annoying to use that i just use my home comp. all the time |
I have an HP Pavilion, too - widescreen. I've had it for almost two years and haven't had any problems with it. It came with Windows XP Professional. I did add more memory to it so it would go a bit fater and that has been great.  |
I have one too. It is pretty nice. I got it as a gift a few years ago and I have never had any real problem with it. I did try to install a program on it the other day and it wouldn't work but maybe it was me. |
I have an hp pavillion.. I had to replace the hard drive after two years but that was because I spilt coffee in it. I will need to replace the keyboard before long because all the letters are wearing off. |
2 years ago we bought each of our kids an HP laptop. My son has had zero problems with his. My daughter's has been in twice for repairs. When we sent it to HP it took two months and a hundred phone calls to get it back. The hard drive was bad and they had to replace it. Then, the CD drive broke and we took it to a local shop to fix it. We've so far paid as much to get that one fixed as we originally paid for it. So? Who knows, I guess hers is just a lemon. |
I have the 17" widescreen. It's fine but a bit cumbersome. Fortunately, I don't carry it around too often. I bought mine in december at best buy. it was on sale. I haven't had technical difficulties but I had to send it to hp for a new screen because it fell off my table and the frame around the screen was coming apart. I received a box from HP, sent it to them, had it repaired and received it within 5 days! |
I was thinking about getting a 17 " screen. Do you think its too big? Should I go 14 to 15? |

I have a 17 inch and it can be a bit awkward at times. If you want a 17 inch to keep on a desk then it's ok. |
Thanks everyone! I decided to go with a 15.4 :) I hope its big enough!!! |
We have a HP laptop. We love it. We take it on the road all the time. Have a wireless card. When at home, we have a mounting system that we snap it to and can use the 19" inch monitor and keyboard. We have Dells for all three of our daughters that are in college. Have not had a problem with any of them. My desktop is a Dell also..... But back to the subject. This is our third HP in 9 years and we are very pleased. |

HP and Compaq merged a while ago ... I had a HP desktop ... I rarely use that and love my Dell lap top much more. ... I think they are all made by the same company and have different names slapped on them .... it all depends what you put in it (OS, DD, GHz, RAM, etc) |
