Dilema I am taking Anatomy and Physiology 1 , but they switched my teachers and they put this new young guy who did not major in teaching. He has his masters but does not know how to properly explain anything. He just goes too fast and runs through it without explaining. My dilema is I am early enough in the semester where I can drop his class and get something else.. or should I stick it out and hope he gets better?:confused: |
I would drop it.. there is nothing worse than struggling bc of the teacher... especially when you pay sooo much for college. However, you could also make him explain everything twice and ask tons of questions ... there are probably many people in the class who feel the same way you do but are too afraid to speak up or ask questions too. (Ive taken this class I know how hard it is) Good Luck with whatever you decide... but if you think you are going to struggle then do something rather than nothing... ya know what I mean? :) |
i'd say drop it if it's not a required course, but in my history, it probably is. i'd say wait it out...give him a chance. first time teachers are probably just as nervous and frustrated, and they need encouragement to get through the year. i would ask tons of questions, ask him to explain things twice (or how ever many times you need to understand), and hopefully he'll notice that you are a student who wants to learn and not just pass the class. i've had this experience with my own a&p professor who's first time was with my class. i failed, and retook it (with her again), and was much better at learning the second time since i asked questions and got to know her. so..give him a chance and show him that you're a student who really wants to learn. |
thanks! I am hoping he is more prepared the next time.. he didnt even have a syllabus to give us , apparently he didnt have a chance to make copies... and then we just did a overview of the chpts and topics we will be covering.... but no outlines or anything.... |
Run to drop it, and take something else. |
