disboards.com is another good site. It is a disney Forum |
Yeah hubby and I go there (disboards) a lot and just read. There is a lot of great info on there! I LOVE it! |

I would be soooo happy with that! He would too, he is just stubborn. LOL Besides my birthday is 2 days after Christmas and I don't need anything for that. Besides last year family gave is over $500 for Christmas in just money so we would pocket a lot of our vacation back right after Christmas. |
That would be perfect! :) |

You should ask for your Christmas presents early. :D |
Well I'm going to ask him once Chase, our son, gets ready for a nap. Then it will be us with no distraction and I will attempt to win him over. :hands: Like I said he is extremely stubborn soo.... :wavecry: |

Then on Christmas day - offer to do dinner for the family, make it a big special day but tell them there will be no gift exchange this year. :) People enjoy that! Getting a nice meal, a nice day away and someone else to do the dishes! Maybe get some special red & green tupperware containers for cheap and send leftover plates home with everyone! So they dont need to cook the next day either :) Also homemade gifts are nice. I make frosted pecan bites every year, tons of them (maybe $30 for all ingredients) and put them in disposable tupperware containers (ya know those CHEAP ones) with some red or green plastic wrap in it and some red & green ribbon tied around it. People love them, they are yummy and they have the tupperware afterwards! :) |

How old is your son? Im assuming less than one if this is his first xmas? he won't know or remember and I know you want to make it special but I think when hes 2 would be a better time for Disney with him. He'll be more aware around him and more interactive with things. If you plan for Oct 2008 to go to disney you'll have plenty of time to sock away $$ w/o hubby knowing and then you can surprise him by telling him one day that you booked and paid for the whole trip CASH and he didnt even feel the pain of a budget!!! :) :) Good luck!!! |

Your son isn't going to remmeber Disney World now, He will enjoy it when he gets a lot older. So that seems like a good idea to save money and pay for it all in cash, and give it a few more years. |

Christmas is the best time to go, by far. I went the week of Christmas (we were there Christmas Eve & Day) in 2002. It was AMAZING. I've also been in April, May, July, Aug, Oct, & Nov. The summer months are the worst times to go IMO. April & May were okay too, but Nov & Dec were by far the best. Summer months were just awful. Too hot, WAY too many people. We drove & it was fine  |
I guess I can compromise with him. He, of course, jumped in and said no. For the exact reasons stated before. :( He said if I just wait till end of March then we can go. I'm still excited, just worried about the crowds. This doesn't help me wanting a get away soon. I just want to get away for a few days. I even said if it was with my mom or Tilly and JJ I don't care! He likes me up his butt a lot so I don't see that happening either. It's like he doesn't wanna go anywhere so I can't either. |

Men!!!!!! :thumbdown :thumbdown :( haha im kidding :) |
EXACTLY!!!!!!!! I just don't think he wants me to go anywhere period. He says he knows how bad I need this break but yet he must not. :cry8: |
Anyone have a vacation spot that is cheaper than Disney World? Maybe if I took it down a notch or two it would help. I dunno. |

We own a timeshare & purchase our Disney hopper tickets through that company...it's a little cheaper, but I don't think we save too much. Plus you have to buy the timeshare lol :p $$$ |

Myrtle Beach is great...you can go there for really cheap. We go there as a family about 4 times a year and have been since I was 9. But if you're looking for an amusement park that wouldn't be great because the main one (Pavillion) closed a couple years ago. There is another one (Family Kingdom, I think it's called), but it's not as good IMO - we only went there once quite a few years ago...might be better now. There are a few water parks, though. Six Flags in Georgia is GREAT! I loved it there. There's Carowinds in Charlotte, NC, too. Hilton Head, SC is gorgeous & makes a good family vacation. We went to St. Augustine as a family when I was younger & had a BLAST. It's BEAUTIFUL & everything's really old (cobblestone streets in town). Then we drove down to Cocoa Beach (not sure if it's spelled that way). In Florida, you could also do Orlando Studios. That's a fantastic amusement park, too. Plus, I'm pretty sure it's quite a bit cheaper than Disney. & Sea World is the best IMO (next to Disney, of course) and cheaper. Great for kids because they get to see all the animals. There's also Discovery Cove where you can swim with dolphins...but that wouldn't be good with a baby. SOOOOOO fun, though. |
If you are crafty, you can make stuff to sell too! I think everyone mentioned some great ideas. eBay seems to be charging more in fees (listing fee, ending fees) then you have your PayPal fees....so, you might do better at a yard sale. I too think that your son might be too young to really enjoy Disney. When we planned on taking our daughter (back when she was younger), everyone told us to wait until 5 or so. But, I guess that is everyone's own preference as to what they feel is the right age. |
I can make bows real easy. Just don't know how high of a demand they are. |
Well depending on your price and all, I need some... Can't get in touch with anyone to get any... |
So I will be interested. |
