I Was Knocked Down/ Warning Nasty Pic 1 Attachment(s) By A Great Dane, I have been debating on weather i should post this, This happen to me last fri night, We went to pick up a few things we were borrowing for my dauthers wedd the next day, My sis friend left her dog out, so when we got there he just jumped right up on me and knocked me down:( he didnt do it on purpose he was smelling my babies and got overly excited, Iam ok just badly brusied and sore, i wanted to share this so everyone can see what a big dog can do, Iam only 102pds so he caught me off gauard, please be careful when you encounter a big dog. |
Ouch that looks awfully painful, I hope it heals quickly for you. Big dogs can surely catch anyone off guard, but at your weight a dane could carry you away. |

Wow, I love Great Danes too, but they can get huge. Sorry that happened to you.:( |
Ouch!! I hope you are feeling better very quickly! I was also knocked down by a Great Dane in my front yard. They are super sweet dogs....they just don't seem to realize how big they are because they are just so darn friendly. They definitely can leave some bruises, though. The one that knocked me down, was an incredibliy nice dog but thought that I was trying to play a game...everytime I tried to get up, he would take his huge paw and knock me back down. It was late at night and I had no one to help me so I ended up having to crawl to my front porch...the whole way Modesto (the Great Dane's name) was licking me. I was so tired that night and wanted to go striaght to bed but had to shower after that escapade. LOL!!!! :D Feel better soon! Tammy |

Wow! What a shock it must have been to you! Luckily you are okay, just shaken. Awhile back, I was jumped on by one of those dogs that look like a kitchen mop (I mean long strings of it). All it wanted was to be friendly. |

OUCH! I think we are so used to little dogs we forget what a bigger dog can do. As well as a lot of times the big dogs are unaware of their size and strength. Take care of yourself!! |

Ouch! Great Danes are supposed to be really sweet dogs but they don't realize their size. I really hope that you start feeling better soon!! TammyJM, that was a funny story. I know it probably wasn't funny at the time, but I just pictured the whole thing, and I could see something like that happening to me :) |

But even the tiny ones can do their damage by you trying to avoid stepping on them. I did my toe in recently..........UGLY and hurt like the dickens cause I slammed it into a wall. Remember this was once my "little" toe and it got worse before it got better. All happened so quick just avoiding my 6 lb. Toby boy. It bled too!Attachment 144587 |
Ouch, that's looks sore. Hope you weren't wearing a strapless to the wedding. They are such loving dogs. Guess he just got carried away with excitement seeing he had company. Glad you didn't fall and break something! |

ouch! that looks verrrry sore! poor you! I have a friend at work who was off work for months because her 8 stone Rottwelier (sp?) pup ran into her while out walking and broke her leg in 2 places!! she was in the middle of no-where and had to call for help on her mobile phone and was air lifted by helicopter to hospital! just shows you what damage they can do without even meaning to!:eek: |
Makes me hurt to look at your bruises:( I hope you're better soon. My sis and BIL had great danes when they first married. Just the tail of one of them knocked my younger son down and bruised him. (He was 3 at the time) They're just so big! |

Oh My your toe looks as sore as my shoulder:( I went to the doc, my daughter would not take no for an answer, she was worried i could get an infection, well they wanted to give me a tetnis shot:eek: nothing is broke just brusied and very sore:( I dont blame the dog, he was friendly and excited, As far as the wedding, it was wonderful, I wasent letting nothing stop me that day;) I will post pics when she sends them to me:) she was the most pleasent and prettiest bride ever:) thanks for you well wishes:) and morkie i hope your toe is ok and healing. |
