First day in a NEW school story My 10 year old granddaughter started in a new school today - 5th grade. We know she has stressed about it all summer - but she has said that it is OK, she will now have double friends. She'll have friends from her old school and now friends from her new school. She lives close enough to her old school to stay in contact with her old friends. Anyway, she said she was nervous, but that it would be OK. Yeah right! She got a letter in the mail over the weekend from her new teacher, welcoming her to the new class, etc. Also, the teacher said that there were 2 more school supplies that weren't on the school supply list: 1. pencil sharpener 2. accordian folder When my granddaughter read the letter with the new supplies, she turned to her mom, with a horrified look on her face and said, "I can't go to school, I don't know how to play the accordian!!!" My daughter and I laughed till we cried (not in front of my granddaughter, of course!). No stress about the new school - I bet she didn't even see the word FOLDER, after accordian. By the way, she went to the new school today - she said it was, "Cool" and she still doesn't know how to play the accordian! :D |
That's pretty cute! Nothing like the first day of school jitters :) I'm glad she had a great first day! That starts the year off right. |
LOL - maybe she thought the accordian folder was to keep her accordian music in?? That's too cute. I hope she de-stresses and enjoys her new school.:) ETA: I don't blame her for not wanting to play the accordian! |
That's a cute story!! She will love it when you share it with her when she is older. Kids can say the cutest things. |
