My son is moving to Las Vegas. My son is moving to Las Vegas for his job. I am very happy for him but at the same time sad for me cause he's always lived at home and now he will be so... far away. He will be an Assistant Manager in a new store that the company he works for now is opening up in Las Vegas. He has been in Assistant Manager's training now for 2 months in Philadelphia, King of Prussia and Atlantic City, N.J. Him and I are leaving on Sept 9th and driving his car out there. :car: He thinks it should take about 4-5 days to get there. Then my husband is flying out on the 18th and were both flying home together on the 22nd.:3plane: He has an apartment booked allready for the lst of September. I am so proud of him for persuing his "dream" to work and live in Las Vegas. I've been there 3 times on vacation and love it out there. I just couldn't live there because of the heat.:sun: So, in the short 2 weeks before I leave with him, I'm sure I will be asking/PM'ing you's that live in Las Vegas lots of questions. Thanks for letting me share my news with all of you. :) Dawn |
Awe, thats sad for you. But remember its good for him. It is something that he has always wanted. And since you like Vegas, you have a reason to go visit there more often!!! |
Congratulations on your sons new job. I know how hard it is when they leave home. Look at the positive side. Now you'll have a real good reason to go out there and visit. |
Dawn, I've so been there this past year. My son moved to Myrtle Beach in November. I miss him so incredibly much and that was with seeing him in January, April and July!!!!!! But, thankfully he is planning to move back here in March of 2008. I can't wait!!!! You will miss him more than you think. So, I hope he is a good emailer and phone caller - you will look forward to every single one!! |
I'm on the other send of a similar situation like yours. I'm the daughter that might move away from home. Even though I don't like our town, I'll always want to come home. My hubby graduates from college May 2008 and I hope his job wont transfer him far. We will find out in October/November. My mom and I are super close so it will be hard on us both. I will be sure to keep you in my thoughts. :) |
Oh hugs! I'm proud of your son, and I feel for you. :rose: |
I can only imagine how much I'd miss mine if he moved away. But what's that old saying....we give them "wings" so they can "fly"? You should be incredibly proud of the job you did raising him. His life is moving in a forward direction and he has a future in line for himself. Lots of phone calls, emails and visits should help. |
"Thanks" everyone. :) I am really proud of him, but like Jodie & Kim and others have said, I will really miss him. :( He is not much of a talker on the phone but he can express himself in e-mails more. My daughter & I plan on going back out in December sometime during her Christmas break. :2plane: I know he is really going to miss the dogs also. Oh, forgot to mention, that with my daughter living on campus at college and when my son leaves, it will only be my husband, me and the dogs. We have not been alone for 25 years so that will be an adjustment also. ;) |
Wow. Maybe you need to get 2 more dogs to keep you company. |
That's bad for you but good for him. Hopefully you can visit alot. |
