Need help with baby doppler...PLEASE 1 Attachment(s) I brought a baby doppler from Ebay and I attached a picture. I have tried a couple of times now to listen to baby's heart beat(i am 16 weeks and 2 days pregnant) but I can hear it for a few seconds, not very loud, and after that I loose it. What shall I do? Is my baby's heart to weak for me to hear it properly or what? Thanks Maria |

Is it a doppler or a prenatal listening device? The prenatal's aren't as good as the dopplers, (midwifes use those), and they don't pick up the heatbeat very well. Anything can interfer with it, position of the baby, their back to you, sitting behind something like the placenta, etc. I think some of them state on the box that they are for use from 24wks or something because the heart is too small for them to pick up. I have one and at 15wks I couldn't pick the heartbeat up but I could clearly hear the whooshing sound of the placenta and my own heartbeat. I'd try again in a few more weeks and you should be able to hear the heartbeat clearly. |
Wow I wish they had those when I was pregnant ions ago. Best wishes. I use to roll up newspaper into a cone shape, and put it on my stomach, and sing to my babies. Silly huh? |

It's a proper baby doppler that I can listen with and also record my baby's heart beat or my own hear beat. I always hear the whooshing sound as well but manage to listen to baby's heart beat only for a couple of seconds. They said on the box that I can hear the baby's heart beat from 10 weeks(obviously not). Hopefully I will hear it soon.Fingers crossed. |
