QuickBooks anyone??? Does anyone here use QuickBooks? I'm having trouble with my sales receipts, and was wondering if there was someone here who could help answer a few of my questions. Thanks! |
I use Quickbooks everyday. I might be able to help you. |
I use it too. I have several different small companies I do bookkeeping for. Maybe I can help? I don't use sales receipts too much though. But I will try if I know what your question is. :) |
oh, good! Maybe one of you could help me out. :) I have the simple start edition, so I don't know if that matters , but here's my problem. I'm trying to add shipping to the bottom of the sales receipt. It already has SubTotal, Tax and the Total, but I can't find anywhere to add shipping as a row and have it still total at the bottom. Do you know how to do this???? |
At my company we had to create an item in our item list. We have "Freight Inbound" and "Freight Outbound" When we are using the sales receipt we just pull up either one of those and then where is says description we type UPS or whoever it went by. It then gets added into the total. Does that make sense? |

okay, one more question...Is there a way to change the sale number so it starts with a number like 100 or 1000 insead of 1?? I can enter in the box, but it doens't automatically put the next number in when I go to enter another receipt. Does that make sense? |
At my work when we put in what number we wanted to use it would stay and we could go onto the next number. I'm not at work right now, but tomorrow when I go in I'll take a look at it again to see if there is a special way you are supposed to set that up. What version are you using? We have the Manufacturing and Wholesale 2005 Edition. |

I don't use sales receipts, but I do use invoices. You can customize any of the forms. Click on help. Then in the search bar type in sales receipts. It should give you a pop up window that includes (with links to click on to do what you want: Customize your forms If you want to customize a QuickBooks form (invoice, estimate, sales order, sales receipt, purchase order, credit memo, or statement), you need to start with a template and then change it to fit your needs. You can make your own sales form as simple or as fancy as you want. You can even download predesigned templates for free from our QuickBooks Template Gallery—the quickest and easiest way to start using a professional-looking form for your business. Before you begin, learn more about customizing your forms. I want to customize: Credit memos Estimates (including proposals, quotes, etc.) Invoices (including packing slips for invoices) Purchase orders Sales orders (including work orders, packing slips for sales orders, and pick lists) Sales receipts (including daily summaries and donation receipts) Statements When I add things to my invoices, I end up adding a line item rather than trying to add something to the total at the bottom. You can do the same thing with your sales receipt. Create an item named shipping. In the drop down box below "Item", click add new. You can set up shipping like any other item. This should then calculate into the total. |
