I Hope a Hurricant Doesn't Ruin my Vacation!
 
I'm going to Fort Myers Beach for a whole week this Saturday. I'm taking Bengi with me, I'm so excited! We live like 2 hours aways, but I live in the east coast which is not as nice as the west coast of Florida. The thing is that there is a tropical storm in the Atlantic that probably become a hurricane by Friday. It's heading west, probably hit the Caribbean islands, but I don't want it to come to where I am to screw up my vacation!!! It's still soon to predict where it's gonna hit, and although it seems like it may not hit Florida, hurricanes can take sudden turns. So please pray that it won't come to where I am, in fact, pray that it will not hit anywhere! (I don't want to send it to somebody else either :rolleyes: ) I just want to have a great time and it's being so long since I've taken a week vacation that I don't want it to be spoiled :( !!!!!!!

Hopefully it will head on out to the middle of nowhere and die away!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. We are going to FL on the 26th so I am hoping all that nonsense clears up.

I saw that storm on the news last night. Have a wonderful vacation with
Benji and I'll keep my finger's crossed for great weather.

We're headed for Sanibel 9/15/07 for a week. I'm hoping we don't get hit by one either. Last year we went the week after a tropical storm had hit and the beaches smelled!!! So much rotting seaweed and fish. Yech!! Anyway, maybe we'll have better luck this year. Oh...the only place we could find that was pet friendly on either Sanibel or Captiva was the 'Tween Waters Inn and they want $280.00/night. Needless to say, we won't be staying there. I'll miss my furbaby, but I guess it will be good bonding time for he and his Grandma! Have a wonderful vacation and we'll both hope the weather is wonderful.

hope you have a great time too!!! I think next time you can consider renting a house or an apartment in Fort Myers Beach, they run 700-1500 a week, some are right on the beach and there are a bunch that are pet friendly!

;) Yes, I think that's what we'll do next year. It's killing me to leave him at home this year...I'll miss him so much. Have a great time!!!!!

dont you just hate the hurricanes???? they always get close to us but most of the time never hit except isabel, bonney and gloria. you just never know.

And Charlie, Jeanne, Ivan - never can remember the 4th one. The first 3 got us and Ivan got my son, mother-in-law, brother, and sister-in-law. What a year that was!

My hubby is in the same boat - he's going on a cruise in the Carribean the 25th with his sisters (yeah I know, sounds wierd :rolleyes: - but I couldn't go due to previous commitments) and with all the disturbances from Africa to here, I bet his cruise is affected! I've heard however, that the cruise ships just take a different route if there is a hurricane in the area! :eek:

well, at least they can take a diff route to avoid it somehow, but if I rent a house i'm stuck!!!

YES no more hurricanes for us Floridians...LETS PRAY!!! :p :p

I am surprised you like the West Coast better than the East - I love the East Coast. Where do you live? I am in Melbourne/Melbourne Beach area.

By the way - enjoy your trip and have fun. :)
