I also ditto the Wally Lamb books - both those mentioned are great. Here are a few that I found to be fabulous reads: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - Lisa See The Kiterunner You're Not You - Wildgen Lost & Found - Parkhurst Water for Elephants - Gruen Leonardo's Swans - Essex and if you want something to REALLY get into: Outlander and the rest of the series by Gabaldon are truly terrific books to just "lose yourself" in. |
Try Double Bind... very suspenseful!! or if you like a bit more scary then any books by dean koontz.. definitely a page turner! |
I just started a book by Dean Koontz called "The Husband", and it's really good! |
books The Guardian The Notebook The Wedding Dear John Sisterhood of the Traveling pants series My sister's keeper White Oleander Lovely Bones For One More Day The DaVinci Code Sleep no more At first sight 5 people you meet in heaven A million little pieces My friend Leonard Can you tell I LOVE to read |
I second the Nora Roberts books and those she writes as J.D. Robb, plus I just LOVE Suzanne Brockmann. She writes down to earth very readable romances about navy SEALS, among other interesting characters. So romance, very up-to-date, funny references in REAL language, plus drama/suspense. She has a great backlist. You can find some of her books on amazon.com or half.com used and get several at one time. I just got her newest book in the mail today. She does a virtual signing every time her books come out. Suz is the bomb! Check out suzannebrockmann.com She fills up my keeper shelf along with NR. Heather |
I've been reading a lot of Augusten Burroughs lately. He's very talented! |
Anything by Anita Shreve who wrote "The Pilot's Wife". I also love Linda Howard for romantic suspense novels - her books NEVER disappoint! |

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I just started Fool Me Once by Fern Michaels. I haven't posted in this thread until now because I really like to read historical romance, BUT this is a romantic suspense story and the main character has two Yorkies! :D There are even two Yorkies on the cover!! It's in paperback and you should be able to find it in half price bookstores now. Hope your surgery goes well. Hugs! |
