I might get BUSTED!!!!! I rent an apartment in a well-sized community in which they allow pets but require a deposit and pet rent (which nobody pays till they are busted…). Well, I haven’t declared Bengi… yet… The thing is that I’ve been having problems with my AC, so they were coming yesterday; I took Bengi to my mom’s all day yesterday, so he wouldn’t be there when the maintenance people came. What I didn’t know is that they were going to replace a part today, so they had to come back in. I called the manager today to see what happened with my AC and he said “They are working in your unit right now”, so I’m like AHHHHHHHHHH. I called my mom right away because she lives like a block and a half away, so she could go and check him out; Bengi is not that friendly with strangers and he’s very protective of HIS house, so I don’t know how he might have reacted when they got in. My mom sent my brother and he picked him up and said that nobody was at my house. Maybe they had already left; maybe they didn’t go yet and the manager said they were there working right now, but they were on their way… I don’t know… but I might get BUSTED!!!!!! If I do, hopefully I won’t get a fine or something… like if they were always doing things right there at the administration… I’ve been dealing with my AC issue for like 2 months already, but you’re late with your rent 1 day and you get a $50 late charge, uffffffff. Sorry, I had to vent… |
Oh, No. Hopefully they won't tell. Keeping my fingers crossed:)! |
Uck.. I hate pet rent. It's just a way for landlords to make more money. A pet DEPOSIT I understand like if a carpet is destroyed. But why should they get money every month just because a person has a cat or a little dog? I hope you don't get busted! |
Hope you don't get busted. |
Oh, gee hopfully they hadn't been there yet. Sure hope you don't get busted. :xfingers: |
Yikes! Hopefully they hadn't been there yet! Pet Rent is stupid-I agree with the other poster on the pet DEPOSIT in case they ruin something...It's also silly that you have to pay as much for one yorkie as you do for a huge lab! |
Oh gosh, hopefully you didn't get caught. I've come pretty close myself. Good luck to you. :D |
I think I might get away with this one... It may be that they came in after... and if they didn't hopefully they won't tell... But I know for sure that if they were here before my brother, Bengi barked like crazy! I hope they won't tell!!!!! |
Tell them you are dog sitting. :D |
It's not the end of the world. At least they allow pets there! I had for awhile, 2 bunnies (briefly; I kept only 1), 3 cats, a large cageful of doves outside, a cageful of finches outside, 2 large parrots, several cages of lovebirds and baby lovebirds in an incubator, and various other small birds in cages all over my apartment along with several aquariums; I was always VERY available if they were going to be coming over to my apt. since the manager usually did everything himself, and I had to hide the bunnies outside, along with covering up all the damage the parrots had done. I lived in that apartment for 14 years (go figure; where else could I have gone:rolleyes: ), and we did have to pay for the damage when I moved out, but at least I never got into much trouble for all I had:) . And the damage was wallboard, draperies, carpeting and door frames. All that stuff can be replaced; it just costs you. But for all the freaking out that I did and worried about being kicked out, it never happened. I think as long as you just deal with it, things will work out. And you can always get a deposit back. They usually just want it to do de-fleaing treatment after you move. It is stressful to feel like you're an outlaw though, LOL. Hope your apartment manager is good to you! |
