Suzuki Violin anyone?? I have been waiting so long (5 years) to start my daughter in early music lessons. We have chosen the first instrument to be violin and have an excellent Suzuki school not too far away from our house. Has anyone had experience with Suzuki music classes? |

I began playing the violin in 5th grade  I continued through 7th grade. We used the Suzuki lesson books and I've heard wonderful things about their violins. Not sure if that's much help or not. I'm always regretful that I quit playing. I bought myself a violin a few years ago and began reteaching myself. I pick it up every now and then ;) And I can always feel the tingle in my fingers when I listen to classical music. It's a wonderful instrument. |
Thank you ladies! I am taking her tomorrow morning to a class to see how it goes... fingers crossed :) |
Music is so good for them! My daughter took two years of violin. My neice is in the Youth Symphony and plays the trumpet. I learned to play the piano when I was young and now it is such a stress reliever when the world starts to get to me. |

Wow does this bring back nice memories. My daughter Brenda, now 44, played the violin, Suzuki method, back in first grade through 6th grade. She was so very good we gave her private lessons and bought her her own violin. To hear her play was beautiful. She hit the 7th grade and peer pressure made her quit! It is a great program. I wish her luck with it. |
Suzuki is a great method and I went as far as 5th grade with Violin and then switched to cello and even played a lil in college. Now I even teach my son so its an awesome method. |
I haven't had any experience, but good for her. I hope she does well. |
