I've known alot of women to get pregnant after using Provera. I used Provera because I had an episode of dysfunctional uterine bleeding. It's used in a wide range of things. It stops bleeding and starts it! :) |
Hey guys...WOW....you are all so wonderful and thank you for all the information. I am not sure if I even have PCOS but I go in tomorrow to get some blood work done. My doctor does not seem to think I have it which confuses me because than what does that mean is wrong with me, I mean why can I not get my periods back? UGH! I have tried Provera before. Your right it did bring my period on but than after it was over I have not had another one and it has been almost 4 months now. My Doctor wants to get me to do Provera again and than do the Clomid to try and help me conceive. I am totally game for it because lets face it I want to be pregnant badly and have been trying for what feels like forever but I am worried that she is not addressing the issue with why I am not having a period in the first place. I mean that is not normal is it? I know this may sound bad but I am not really worried about it because all I want is to be pregnant first and if the blood work comes back I should technically be fine right? Ugh I am confused. Thanks again though for all the great advice. |
If you'd rather go a more natural approach , try Vitex (Chasteberry Tree). It restores the hormone balance and causes the menstrual cycle to return and ovulation to occur as it should. I've been taking it for awhile just to make sure my body stays on track and it's absolutely wonderful. Can I take this natural approach even if I do not have PCOS, just to try to regulate my periods again? Thanks for the info!! |

Yep! It's natural for restoring a woman's hormones. If you do a Google search on "Vitex" or "Chasteberry Tree" , you'll find completely good reviews on how it helped women become pregnant and how it restores the hormones to promote your menstrual cycle. However , Vitex works slow for some people. I took it for a month and the next month I got my period , it was completely tolerable. No heavy bleeding. It went from light>medium>light and then it was gone in a matter of 5 days. It could take months for Vitex to work. Especially since it's a natural herb. You may not be having a period because your hormones are wacked out. In most cases , women don't have periods because they have anovulatory cycles which they don't ovulate and they don't have a period. So if anything , you're probably not ovulating properly. I would think that if you just had a simple hormone imbalance , your doctor would do some bloodwork and put you on some meds to get everything back on track. You definately need some bloodwork done. I would suggest that you ask your doctor for a transvaginal ultrasound. I got one which confirmed that I didn't have polycystic ovaries. |
